From what I can see in the fine print, only corp best buy gift cards are not allowed. OP please report what you find when you visit the store.

Well I just went over and they had them. So I bought $250 worth and already received an email from amex saying thanks for using the offer. Its not as good as the 30 off 100 target/walmart but I'll take $25 free in giftcards.

Never worked at Best Buy, but in over 10 years (easily 20 different companies) in retail you never could use your discount on giftcards.
