What is the best buffet (food-wise) in your opinion at Disney? We would like to spend one meal at a buffet for our upcoming summer trip. Is the food them same at all of the buffets?

Thanks!

We love Crystal Palace and Boma for buffet breakfasts, and we love Boma and Biergarten for buffet dinners. For what it is worth, we have not had good experiences at Cape May Cafe Buffet or Garden Grove.

I have heard many good things about Trail's End for dinner, and we liked Crystal Palace for lunch as well.

You will find some food items are similar across the buffets, but i would definitely not describe the buffets as all having the same food. They are all quite different in both food and atmosphere.

:wizard:Our favorites are Crystal Palace for breakfast and Boma for dinner.

I started this thread if you're looking for info about breakfast buffets :) It was very helpful and we ended up choosing Crystal Palace over Boma merely for the fact that we wanted to be in a park before opening :)

As for dinner....I was looking at Boma because we're staying at AKL and I see a lot of people have recommended it for you as well. If you don't mind, I have a question.

For those of you who suggested BOMA dinner buffet, we are not very 'adventurous' when it comes to food. We looked at the menu on allearsnet and we're fearful that we'll spend the money for BOMA and then won't like anything. Any feedback regarding this?

I think there are still plenty of "less adventurous" options at Boma. I think the good thing here is that you can get some standards (roasted chicken, salad, some veggies, great soups, etc) and then try some of the things that you find to be too adventurous. I have to say my one knock on BOMA is that the last time we were there, apparently "the word is out" because the restaurant was completely packed, the buffet line was pretty long, and the place was incredibly noisy. Just a warning that it can be a very hectic dinner setting. It was the only time it was ever that packed, but just fair warning in case. Also, BOMA is quickly getting to legendary hype status, so remember that it is still a buffet dinner, not Victoria & Alberts. :lmao:

Cape May Cafe has a great seafood buffet! Crystal palace is great at breakfast :)

Wish I could say Boma, but I've not had the pleasure of eating there... yet!

I would say there is plenty for the non adventurous type at Boma. However, I found Boma's food including most of the meat dishes to be too sweet. (I'm a salt girl). I really liked the soup and hummus though. They were great. We were a party of 8 and I was the only one who felt this way. The rest LOVED it.

For us its Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom and Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club.

The atmosphere is nice and the food seems to be a "step up" from the usual fair at Disney.

I love Biergarten, Boma and Tusker House. We have had wonderful experiences at all of these and neither DH nor I are really crazy about buffets normally.

Thanks so much! I like sweet, so maybe I'll enjoy it. My husband is just like a kid in the sense that if it looks or sounds different, he doesn't want to try it ;) I think if there are some basic options available too, we should be good. I was worried about the actual status of it, since I know places can go into HYPE status quickly and then they don't live up to what you expected. I promise to keep my expectations at 'buffet status' :rotfl:

DH and DS (16) completely dislike Boma - they have asked that we NOT go there this coming trip ...

I like Boma alot. So I guess its different tastes for different people.

We like Ohana as best, while not a typical buffet, food is served family style and we love it!
