Best buffet opinions please

I personally don't like buffets except for breakfast. I don't know why - something about buffet food just isn't appealing to me but you can't really screw up breakfast so I've always had good luck there.

I DO really like Ohana (which is family style, all you care to enjoy). Breakfast - Boma and Tusker House are my favorites.

Crystal Palace and Tusker House are my favourites if you are looking for buffets only! Really great food and good atmospheres

We only plan on doing one table service meal and would like to try a buffet. Our trip is in mid April and not sure which meal we will choose either (breakfast, lunch, or dinner). Thanks for your suggestions...oh we will be traveling with two teen boys with good appetites.

BOMA (breakfast or dinner but they are very different) or Biergarten

Another vote for Garden Grill! Great character interaction & good food!

Family style...do you mean buffet?

No
Family Style means there is a set, limited menu served at your table in multi portion serving platters/bowls like families do at home. They are all you care to eat meaning they will bring you more of what you ask. But the choice is much smaller than a traditional buffet.

Not a buffet - family style

Boma is excellent for breakfast and dinner though rather pricey at dinner. Much more reasonably priced for breakfast.

Trails End is the cheapest buffet on property and can be a little bit harder to get to, but is my close second favorite after Boma for breakfast and dinner.

Both of the above places give 10% off with your Disney Visa card.

Foodwise, I don't think any of the character buffets are "don't miss," but the best is probably Tusker House. It's not cheap though.

OOOps.....we will try two Boma and Tusker.

I personally wouldn't book both if they were my only two sit-downs. While they aren't identical, I find them incredibly similar. They are delicious.

I give a slight edge to Tusker and Cape May is our family's favorite.

I have to agree. Don't do Boma & Tusker, too similar. People call Tusker "Boma lite"
With Rivers of Light opening and Disney price hikes, I expect Tusker will be about $4 or $5 more than Boma for dinner.
Garden Grill would be too sedate and boring for teens.
Biergarten is a lot of fun, but the communal seating can be off-putting if you are not in the mood or expecting it.
Crystal Palace is a beautiful restaurant, and has a lot of wonderful food choices. (Characters happen to be there too, so it can get loud with excited people.)
I would recommend going at lunch, rather than dinner, so it would be less hectic. People on dining plan go for dinner to maximize "value" of the DDP, so dinners everywhere can get really busy and loud.
Goofey Drool, I like the variety of buffets too. Try a tablespoon of 12 different things. Soups, salads, desserts, many options. I am not a big eater, but like to try a lot of things, rather than eat a large serving of one thing. Your big eating teens should find good choices too.
Have a great trip.

I actually did both on my last trip and plan to do so again next trip. I enjoy that type of food and twice in a trip is not too many times for me.

I got the impression that they were doing only two sit downs. Personally I wouldn't do two buffets for my only two sit-down meals either. If I was booking a week of meals, I could see myself booking both though.

If I were doing only two sit-downs, one would be Tusker House, and the other would probably be either Kona Café, Captain's Grille, or The Wave. Or if atmosphere matters more than food, then Sci Fi Dine In.

I agree that including both Tusker House and Boma would fit well if there will be at least a week of meals.

Of the buffets we only go to Cape May Clambake - love steamed clams and the shrimp. Breakfast buffet - go with Cape May - characters are there but it is quiet. I ate at Crystal Palace last month and it was terrible - not as much selection and a higher price.

I have teen boys.... and they have 2 fave buffets- Boma for dinner and biergarten for either lunch or dinner.... they are SO good!

Just a thought.... those two have a lot of similarities.... I personally think Boma is 1000% better than TH,There is SO much more variety at Boma- but that's just my opinion... you may feel like you're 'repeating if you do just those two..... vs. Boma and another choice, which may offer different types of food

If I am doing just one buffet on a trip then I am going to Boma. I found this was the my favorite buffet overall. The food was great and the location of is just a great. They have food there that I don't normal find around me so it is great to try the different options they have there. If this was not available then I would go to 1900.
