Hi Guys ,
We are trying to pick a buffet dinner for our first night at WDW. A buffet is our first night tradition :)
Which do you think is best?

My DH loves Crystal Palace, I love 1900 Park Fare. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Chef Mickeys is a lot of fun but the foods just OK.

Crystal Palace is our favourite  , followed by 1900 Park Fare and Chef Mickeys.

That said, we enjoyed all 3 tremendously! :thumbsup2

Big difference in characters at each, and characters are a big draw for us....so I would also factor that into your decision. Pooh & Friends are at CP, Cinderella and her family are at PF, and the Fab 5 are at CM.

Have fun at whichever one you decide! :goodvibes

I think they are all pretty much the same or similar, so go with which characters you want to see.

I really like the food at 1900 Park Fare, but the Crystal Palace experience is a very close second for our family!

Bobbi:goodvibes

I also choose Chef Mickey's. We do this every trip and love it. We have never been disappointed. Have also done CP and it didn't even compare to CM's. Hopefully they were having a bad day because we are going to try again this trip!!

I'm a "Contemporary" type of guy, and really like "Chef Mickey's"... but I've always thought that the food was better at "1900 Park Fare". However, I must tell you that, for all the times I've been to WDW, I've never eaten at "Crystal Palace" because of all I've read about how "loud" it is there. From what is being said here, I just might have to reconsider that line of thinking and give it a try !

I've been to all 3 and I would say CM's was the loudest for us. But keep in mind there is a bunch of kids and most of those buffet character meals will be somewhat loud. But I don't think CP was loud at all. I do think we didn;t have the best waitress there though. But that can happen anywhere.
This year we are doing CP and 1900. (couldn't get a CM for the day I wanted), so I am excited to revisit these places again.

1900 Park Faire. I'm sorry, but Madeira Wild Mushroom Beef Tips, Orange Teriyaki Chicken, Tamarind Glazed Salmon with Pesto and Wasabi Mango Coulis, and Penne Pasta with Chicken and Italian Sausage Florentine are not regular buffet items to my family.

Not to mention $30 a pop for adults and kids 10 & over.
The food at 1900, IMO, just tastes better.

With Crystal Palace--you would need a ticket to gain entrance.
the other places you dont need a ticket- SOme people dont buy a ticket to go the first day they arrive--depending on the arrival time.

I chose Crystal Palace.

Last trip we ate at Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace, but have done 1900 in the past.

DH really liked the offerings at Crystal Palace and the food was very good!

Food quality goes to 1900 Park Fare - so thats who I voted for. But that does not mean that is where I would necessarily go if I could only go to one character mean.

Chef Mickey's is a must see... but to be honest... the food is so so and I am getting a little tired with Chef Mickey's

I think Crystal Palace has excellet charcacters, a wonderful location and decent food. So I would go here first of the three.

I prefer Crystal Palace for the food.... but IMO Chef Mickey's is more fun and has better characters.... but if you are looking at food alone... the my vote goes for Crystal Palace :)
