Any new self-tanners on the market, that work well but won't break the budget?
IOW, something to buy at Target or CVS? Would prefer not buying one from Nordstroms or Dillards.

I really do believe for self tanners, what you get is what you pay for. I can tell you that St Tropez (QVC) is a great deal, lasts me the season and I would not be without it..:wizard:
You are not orange, it is a light pump foam, it is just great when directions are followed.

I liked the free sample of Dove I received a few years ago. Looked good and didn't have that salty/sweaty smell to it when it dried.

How much is it? Never bought thru QVC before :) Do you have a link?

Thanks. I'm willing to try a few of them. I'm in the mood for a tan this spring :)

Sephora also has St Tropez (and free shipping over $50, and you can ship it back for free if you try it and don't like it). I highly recommend it as well :)

I used the Jergens natural glow for my body and it worked great. It takes about a week to see maximum color, but the color is nice and its less than $10.

Any experience or thoughts about

*Too Faced Tanning Bed In A Tube* ?

Our local Sephora carries that, for about $25.

(they don't carry the St. Tropez mentioned earlier - would have to mail order that)

Does St Tropez give a dark tan? I've tried all the moisturizing self tanners - Dove, Jergens etc and for me, it's like using nothing. That's not what I call a tan - its's so light that it's hardly noticable!

Anyone familiar with this brand?

ITA. Same with me :(

Same here. Started using it over the weekend when I realized I'm going to be wearing more sheer pantyhose as opposed to opaque tights now.

If I need some color immediately, I just mix Bonnie Bell liquid bronzer with some baby lotion. It's my go to for summer events when I'm dressed and going bare legged in a sleeveless dress.

I thought that I loved the Jergens too. Used it religiously for a few weeks before we went to Disney a couple years ago. It really look great. BUT, then I went into the pool at the hotel & it reacted with the chlorine in the pool (I guess) and it all just got nasty & came off. It was not a pretty picture, as it got really blotchy first. I was bumming since I was so faithful to putting that stuff on everyday for weeks! LOL

But, if you're not going to swim, I'd recommend it.

I'm going to try this one! I googled and there are several kinds. Any you prefer over others? How long does it last?

I just do it for weddings and other events.

It lasts about 2 days, depends on how hard I scrub in in the shower. Plus all it costs me is the $1.99 for a tube of drugstore bronzer. I always have some sort of lotion to mix it with.

So is it really a self tanner, in that it continues to darken with each application? Or is it just a bronzer that only *covers* for the day ... like make-up, until its washed off?

Sorry OP forgot to subscribe!

I but thru QVC, (go to qvc dot com) they are great...no q's asked re returns.
The ST Tropez does actually give you a tan look, and you re-apply, I did it about once a week, I follow directions and it is easy peasy. I got so many compliments and so many friends now use it too. I think you can get it at stores, but do not know where.
I love that it is natural, not orange, do less rather than more when applying and whether it is for a special occasion or over time, you just maintain it and it is very natural looking. I tried some OTC before this and was not the same by any stretch of the imagination... too greasy, long ot dry, not a foam, orangy, fake, smelly etc....The St Tropez is also used by a lot of celebs, supposed to to be the best out there ;) Good Luck deciding!!

I really love the Loreal spray....I get it at target below $10 a bottle..great for legs, natural and doesnt brush off on clothes...spray on after shower and color develops over 24 hours. Also banana boat spray tan is good, both have a natural smell.
