whats the best budget flowers for a long distance( I will never see them)
they are for a teen ( older )

she is in Hosp and will be for 2 days!

thanks!

Use the internet to find a florist at the destination. Call them directly, tell them how much you want to spend, place the order over the phone with a credit card. This avoids the middleman and the 25% or more mark up they make.

I agree with Mkebound. Call a local florist. When you give them your budget amount - make sure you know that delivery and taxes will be additional. I try to say - I have $xx to spend, and that has to include the taxes and delivery fees.

Another thing - ask the florist what flowers are most budget friendly right now. In-season flowers (i.e. ones that they have in the store right now)...will most often give you the biggest bang for your dollar.

I recently used Proflowers to send a purple orchid to a friend who was recovering from cancer surgery. She called to thank me and tell me how beautiful it was.

Check the hospital's web site. Many have a gift shop and you can order online or call them direct. I have done this many times and it is always cheaper than any other florist.

I agree with the two PP's. I have to send flowers to co-workers in several locations across the country, when they have an illness, loss of family member, etc. I find a local florist online and do exactly what the poster above suggests...give them a total amount of money I want to spend. I work for a large company that has a contract with a national florist, but it is cheaper to call the florist directly.

thanks!!
I did check hosp web site gift shop and they are very resonable gonna go that route!! thanks again

Have the recipient send you a picture of what she gets. DBro-in-law had flowers sent to DMIL and got a very very different boquet than what he paid for!

Every one I have sent flowers to through ProFlowers has told me how beautiful. They also last so much longer than our local florist?? There is usually a coupon floating around for them. This is just a FYI for anyone reading as I believe op has made her decision.

I have found that instead of flowers I will use www.ediblearrangements.com which is fresh fruit cut into shapes and some chocolate (or other) dipped. Everyone I send these to raves over them.

I was going to suggest this - ds14 was sent one when he had a surgery, and it made his day! We've also sent a few. Actually, dd9 just asked if she could have one for her birthday (we have a local one). My teens do a lot of plays, and prefer candy over flowers.
