We are staying off property for the first time at one of the Downtown Disney resorts....got a great deal on hotel and rental car! We're early risers and like to eat a big breakfast before hitting the parks every morning. Can anyone suggest some places in that area for good breakfasts...buffet or regular menu? I know our hotel has a buffet, but it's on the expensive side and doesn't sound like it's all that great. Thanks!

Hmmmm.....according to AllEars, they don't open for breakfast until 9am. We are rope-drop kind of people, so that won't work for us. Thanks, though! I'm wondering what else might be around there...IHOP, Denny's, that kind of thing.

There is a Perkins in the Crossroads Plaza across the entrance from the DTD area. Steak and Shake is also on 535 about a mile when you exit to turn left.

When I was on the College Program we used to get off work sometimes at 3 or 4 in the morning, starving for anything.
So we used to walk to Waffle House which is open 24/7.
But of course at 3 in the morning anything looks good.
But in that area right outside DTD there is a little shopping complex, often overlooked with a lot of meal possibilities.
Its called the "Crossroads of Lake Buena Vista"
Just as a little warning the supermarket there is a little pricey, but there is a publix near by. If you need the directions just ask either the hotel staff or me! :goodvibes (plus its a brand new one)
Also if you cross the highway south going down state road 535 there is a golden corral, but I don't know what time they open but breakfast is served until 11AM

hope this helps

There is a Shoney's just down the road from Crossroads on 535 also. It has a buffet and down from Shoneys is a Ponderosa with a buffet. I think they both open early

Golden Coral has a wonderful breakfast buffet. It is not far from Crossroads on 535. Do you have a car? If you do try Golden Coral:yay::yay::yay:

Is the Golden Corral breakfast Buffet avaialbe all week or only on the weekends ?

Thanks - do you know what time it opens ? We are early eaters LOL

It is called Sunrise Breakfast Buffet and it says to 11am...Sorry but it doesn't say what time it starts. Try it if you get a chance it is really good.:cheer2:

My vote is for shoney's. We had dinner at Golden Corral and some guy there was tasting the desserts without a plate or a fork, so it turned us off. Food and staff were great at shoney's and we got a coupon also.

IHOP is on the left side of 535 as you leave Hotel Plaza Blvd. Turn left and you will see IHOP just before the corner.
Across 535 in the Crossroads Plaza is a Perkins as well as McDonalds
Dennys is also on 535 on the right side just before Palm Parkway.

Golden Corral serves breakfast everyday. They are located next to the Bahama Breeze at the corner of Vineland and 535. From Hotel Plaza Blvd, turn right and head under the I 4 over pass and you will see Vineland on the left side.

Perkins has those incredible homestyle muffins that are huge so it won me over, I really enjoyed my meal there (at crossroads)

I've eaten at all of these and liked them. The Golden Corral (buffet) and Perkins (menu) would be my top two though. Be sure to pick up the little discount booklets. They all have coupons in them. (BTW, I really like GC's breakfast buffet, but their dinner buffet not so much.)

Another option is making an ADR at a Disney property. We like Kona at the Polynesian and Boma at AKL!
