Best Breakfast

It all depends. Is it for adults only? or children too?

For a sit down breakfast, Kona is superb. Delish tonga toast, juice & coffee.

For character breakfasts, Tusker House, Cape May, Ohana & Crystal Palace are all wonderful choices with a terrific variety of food. Love it.

1900 PF is quite good as well. They have REAL bacon! :woohoo:

Based on your signature I am going to guess that you are going as a family.

My DS9 says that you should never miss Crystal Palace or Tusker House. The food is great, the characters wonderful, and the early time makes the restaurant seem a little more laid back.
We have always done the 8am breakfast to get in the park early. We love having the PhotoPass people there to take our pics in the park with no crowds. We also love that we are usually the first people on Splash Mountain and the Safari.

Location & characters make no difference. Will be both adults & kids though. Just heavy on dinner ADRs so would like to throw in a breakfast. Have considered Tusker as we have never done that. Is that a character breakfast? If so, who is there? Will do Cape May & Ohana got dinner so will probably pass on breakfast there.

my DD is a huge breakfast fan & has enjoyed all of these.

GF Cafe nice calm breakfast good food & great service DD called it the pretty breakfast.
Ohana Rip roaring time we had a blast food is family style which is nice not having to get up & down.
Kona DH & I's choice we I love tonga toast kids liked it just fine.
Cape May also a great time really enjoyed the food we went closer to 10 so it wasn't crowded.

We really want to try Crystal Palace Breakfast sometime, heard great things about it. And have been great reports for Tusker house too.

Our favorites:

Buffet=Crystal Palace. Huge variety of choices and great character interaction!

TS=Kona Cafe. Love the Samoan eggs and the macadamia nut pancakes. Coffee is incredible here.

CS=The food court at Pop Century. I love their bounty platter-best eggs and sausage out of all CS restaurants. Great waffles as well.

Tusker House and Akershus Princess Storybook Breakfast are both very good, in my experience.

Had 4 character breakfasts last week.

I'd rank them as follows:

1. Cape May
2. Crystal Palace
3. Tusker House
4. CRT

The first 3 of these were all great and we'd return in a heartbeat. From a food quality perspective, I thought they were fairly comparable, but we liked Cape May the best because it was more laid back/less rushed and the characters spent more time with you (and came around faster).

We thought CRT was just okay (fortunately, we were on a DxDP upgrade from free dining so we didn't experience much buyer's remorse). While the experience of eating in the castle was memorable, we'd only do it again if on another DxDP upgrade from free dining AND we were with someone who had never experienced eating in the caste and really wanted to.

Tusker House has Donald, Daisy, Goofy & Mickey. Its a lot of fun and the food is fantastic. You really cant go wrong here.

We have eaten at both Tusker House and Crystal Palace. We preferred Crystal Palace, esp if you can get an ADR before the park opens.

Tusker House was rushed, felt crowded and was very noisy.

We are going back to Crystal Palace on this trip at my son's request. He wants to eat breakfast with Tigger again. *swoon*

I love Kona Cafe. It is casual enough to bring the kids and an affordable way to start the day. You get a LOT of food. I also like that there are sweet and savory options, and the coffee is great.

I also enjoyed breakfast at Kouzzina, but it is a little more formal to me. Kona is way more relaxed.

Hey- why hasn't anyone mentioned BOMA yet? From all counts I've heard it's the best breakfast on DIS property!

I would have to say that our favorite would be Boma. The food is soooooo good, not to mention the juice. We just love going over to AKL. The Wave and Kona are tied for second. It's hard to pick between the two of them. Just love the sweet potato pancakes at The Wave. They remind me of the breakfast at Boatwright's.

Another vote for Kona Cafe! The macadamia nut pineapple pancakes are delicious and the coffee is excellent! :goodvibes

Love the Tonga Toast at Kona and the Golden Waffle at Kouzzina.

Thank you for all the replies! Thinking we may try Tusker House.

Question about Kona...can you get a coffee to go anywhere at the Poly? I would love to try it!

Yes, you can at the coffee bar just next to Kona. It's a sushi bar later in the day. I think that it has the same Kona blend as Kona. Captain Cook's downstairs serves Nescafé like all of the other counter service restaurants in the resorts. :(
