I am heading back to Disney in May 09 and leaving the kids behind. Any good places for breakfast? I have heard Spoodles is really good, but looking for any other experience you all have had.

Thanks!!!

I really enjoy the breakfast at Rainforest Cafe in AK.

I'll second the Kona Cafe! It's our favorite. Boma at the AKL/V) would be our second favorite. The buffet at the Grand Floridian is also fantastic, but it is a character meal (not sure if you're looking for that). We also like breakfast at Olivia's (OKW) and at Whispering Canyons (WLV).

The breakfast at O'Hanas in the Polynesian is THE BEST on-site!! We fell in love with it several trips ago, and now make it a standard part of our first day of every visit. It's one of those all-you-care-to-eat buffet skillets at the table that has eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, and hash browns in it. You also get fresh fruit and bakery items, and the pineapple/orange/guava juice is out of this world!! On top of the wonderful atmosphere and the great food, you also get character visits to your table. When my kids were younger, they were hand-fed by Chip and Dale - it is one of our favorite WDW memories. My vote is definitely for O'Hanas at the Polynesian!

W really liked the Crystal Palace at MK. Cape May was ok if you're close to there.

What's the dif between O'Hanas and Konas ? I haven't tried either yet, but yall made it sound great. How do they compare to Crystal Palace?

O'Hanas is the character breakfast buffet and Kona is the sit down restaurent. I've never eaten at the Crystal Palace so I don't know how they compare.

Another vote for Kona's! And it's always nice to take in the beauty of this resort after breakfast. :)

To me, Boma is the best selection of food you can get for the breakfast $ at WDW.
We love to start a day with a proper breakfast, tried Boma once near the beginning of our last trip and loved it so much we went back 2 more times!

Others:
Chef Mickey's: To us it's a Disney tradition, but you might stay away if you do not have kids.
O'Hana's: Nice family style, better if you are seated closer to the windows (view of MK in the distance)
Crystal Palace (in MK): Love the building. Hint: Try the deep-fried French toast from the Kids section! (just like an elephant ear!)
Spoodles: was very good food. worthwhile if you are in the EPCOT area, but I did not think the breakfast food was unique enough to trek in from other resorts.
Also if you are in the EPCOT area, there's Cape May in the BC.

Well, the biggest difference (other than a la carte vs. buffet), and the deciding factor for may of us Kona Cafe supporters, is that Kona serves Tonga Toast and 'Ohana doesn't. What is Tonga Toast, you ask? Well, it's the most delicious concoction of bread, banans, cinnamon and sugar that you'll ever have! It's otherwise known as banana-stuffed french toast and it's fanTAStic. I prefer to have mine grilled, rather than fried, but most prefer the fried version.

Had a great breakfast at OKW Olivia's. Food A+ Service A+ Grits AA++ A very pleasant surprise!! Relaxed atmosphere. paw: paw: paw: Go PSU!

I agree with wheelcap! Ohana's is also our favorite, and cape may buffet at Beach Club is our second favorite. Both of these are great for creating BIG full tummies so you can not need lunch! And we are still in the character-loving phase of life :goodvibes

We've eaten at Kona maybe three times and everytime there was a problem. Either the food was cold, over cooked, poor quality, whatever. So we don't choose to eat there.

Used to love breakfast at the Concourse Steakhouse, but that closed earlier this year. So now we eat at the GF Cafe and get fabulous Eggs Benedict and other things.

Olivia's is also great for an outside breakfast.
