Hey there,

We have decided we'll give Breakfast with Minnie at Plaza Inn a miss this time. We can't eat too much in the mornings and have decided we'll do Goofy's for dinner instead. Can anyone recommend a nice place to eat breakfast in the park, either DL or Cal Ad? Does anywhere have particularly nice breakfast sausage? Great scenery would be a bonus too! How late can you typically still order breakfast items?

There really aren't that many in-park locations that serve breakfast. Disneyland has Carnation Cafe (TS), Minnie's Breakfast at the Plaza Inn (buffet), River Belle Terrace (CS), Jolly Holiday (CS), and Starbucks (CS). Over in DCA, I can only think of Ariel's Grotto (TS), Pacific Wharf Cafe (CS), Flo's V-8 Cafe (CS) and Starbucks (CS). Were you looking for a TS or a CS location?

I am looking forward to breakfast at River Belle Terrace next to the quiet early morning traffic on the River... Breakfast is not my favorite meal and I usually can't do more than Starbucks and a pastry maybe. Or a Matterhorn Macaroon and a hot chocolate!

I don't mind what type, we will be in there 9 mornings, and will most likely have simple breakfast back in the room most mornings but I thought if there was anything particularly nice or memorable we'd like to give it a go. I saw a pic of someone having a rather large coffee with cream on top, that looked good and was wondering where they got that!

My faves:

Cinnamon Roll French Toast and Mickey Mouse Pancake from River Belle Terrace in DL
Brioche French Toast and Chicken Tamale breakfast from Flo's V8 Cafe in DCA

:thumbsup2

Flo's V8 looks like it has a great vibe, I think my son would love it in there. Is the River Belle Terrace outdoor seating? It sounds nice too, and I'm all for a Mickey Pancake!

I agree with the PP- we are HUGE fans of breakfast at Riverbell Terrace in DLR and Flo's V-8 Cafe in DCA. We actually plan on eating at each of them at least once and maybe more they are so enjoyable and we are not normally breakfast people

The seating we used was inside (which was good because it was chilly in the morning in December). I know there is outdoor seating close by that I believe can be used as well if the weather is warm (plus the inside area is small and fills up during peak breakfast time).

Carnation Cafe has good sausage! I believe it's chicken though, not pork. If you sit outside you get a great view of the hustle and bustle on Main Street.

You can get sausage at River Belle Terrace (I don't know if I would call it "particularly nice" but it's fatter than say, a Farmer John breakfast sausage! It may be the same as the sausage Carnation Cafe but I believe it's different.) You can order extra on the side, or just order a side of sausage if you don't want a whole plate. You can't beat the scenery outside!

The time breakfast ends varies by location; Storyteller's (in the GCH) serves breakfast until 11:30am (you can order off the menu if you don't want to do the buffet) and Tomorrowland Terrace serves breakfast until 10:30am -- the breakfast burrito is really good.

There's a "dead" spot for breakfast in DCA: there is no food or drink available until 11am between California Screamin' around the back of Paradise Pier to the Ariel ride (not even a fruit cart!); egg sandwiches/bread bowls on Pacific Wharf, or muffins and espresso drinks from the coffee cart at the entrance to Paradise Pier are the closest breakfast options to Paradise Pier.

You can get espresso drinks, like a mocha with whipped cream, at any Starbucks, the coffee cart at the entrance to Paradise Pier or on Main Street, the GCH bar, Carnation Cafe, Jolly Holiday.... The GCH bar and the coffee cart in DCA have the shortest lines for espresso drinks. :goodvibes

White Water Snacks at the Grand Californian have delicious breakfast burritos (among other things) that are very reasonably priced.

I usually eat at La Brea Bakery or Jazz Kitchen Express before going into the park, but if I want breakfast in the park it is the River Belle Terrace. I miss the American Egg House that used to be at the beginning of Main Street. It was a great place to sit on the patio and watch people.

I think they did away with the a la carte breakfast menu for Storytellers, so now it's only a character buffet (see post #8 in this thread).

I really enjoyed having breakfast at Carnation Café. They have Mickey waffles with whipped cream and strawberries...sooooo yummy! The sausage is good there too. Sitting outside on the patio on Main St. is really nice, but inside is nice too. I would suggest making reservations since it's a pretty popular place.

I'm a huge fan of Flo's French Toast and sitting out back overlooking the Cadillac range of RSR and watching the cars go back. it's very peaceful in the mornings I find.

Oh awesome! Very boring we are here in Aus, we don't get whipped cream on our coffee or McDonalds thickshakes  leaves me craving it when I go to the US!

It sounds like River Belle Terrace, Carnation Cafe and Flow's V8 are very popular so they're going on the list!

Flos has amazingly good brioche french toast. Very sweet though (french toast with bananas and carmel sauce).
For savory the Pacific wharf cafe is great. They have a really yummy crossaint breakfast sandwich, but even better is the sourdough breakfast bowl. It is really really good.

My daughter and I are huge fans of the waffles. At Flo's they are on the kids menu, so are whole wheat and very good, but I found the turkey bacon inedible. We haven't managed to get to Carnation Cafe for breakfast yet, but that is on our plan for our next trip. I can give the Mickey pancake a thumbs up at River Bell Terrace as well.
