What is the best breakfast buffet and how were the characters

Cast DH Me DD 9 DS 4 DS2

thanks

I said Tusker House From all of our experiences with character breakfasts. I feel there is a good diversity in food. A couple of years ago I might have said Chef Mickey's but the last two times we ate there it was just disappointing. I think I have eaten at all the character meals they offer so I am not just biased. Also jambo juice at Tusker House is so good.

I also voted for DBS @ TH. Of all the breakfast options, this has been the most consistantly good breakfast. We have also never had an issue with 1900 PF, the character interaction has been pretty great there and we haven't had any bad food experiences. All the other character breakfasts are kind of bunched together after that, IMO.

We have eaten at Cape May twice. Once in Feb and the food was fantastic and the character interaction really really great and they came by 2-3xs each. It was not crowded at all. Once in October and it was packed. Quality of food seemed more rushed but on a buffet you have lots of choices. Characters were still really great but due to the crowd only came around once. We would go back to Cape May if it was convenient.

We ate at Ohana's once and would not go back. You blink and the characters are gone. But you do get Mickey. The food was icky. Limited items served family style. Eggs were swimming in heavy cream and butter and none of us at the table could eat them. The fruit was yummy. If I were nearby at breakfast I would go to Kona's first.

Crystal Palace was decent. Once again a buffet so lots of choices. Characters were good. They made an effort to come back to you if they missed you or if you were at the buffet so you will not find yourself sitting and waiting after your meal is done for one to come back. We would go back to Crystal Palace again for the early entrance into MK.

cape may is definitly the quietest of these buffets, the food and the character interaction is great !
tusker house is the only place you will meet daisy duck, however, both times we went, we waited an eternity to be seated and we had ADR's.
1900 park fare is a great buffet, the characters were great, but it is a madhouse in there, very busy, very loud.
chef mickeys was our first character meal ever, and we loved it, but we were not looking for quality food at that time, just entralled with disney magic, and there's lots of it at the contemporary with the monorail overhead, and mickey and the gang.
the best friends breakfast has great fruit and bread, but the actual eggs, sausages and potatoes are kinda gross, but the juice is great, and so are the characters

Character breakfasts are my first love! Pretty much, I do a character breakfast every day of every trip. I have done them all, and I love them all.

My favorite is Ohana's. The food is consistently the best quality there, and I love that I do not have to get up and down to go to the buffet. (It's getting easier to do buffets now that my daughter is six, but on the trips when she was two and four and five, it was difficult as a single parent.) I love the scrambled eggs at Ohana's. I have found them to be fresh every time. The breakfast potatoes are especially good, and I love the sausage, too. One of the breads is so sweet and delicious that it melts in your mouth. We have had great luck with the characters. Stitch played with my daughter and stole her fork one time. He ran away and hid from her and then came back with a new fork. She loved the interaction. We linger over breakfast, so we sometimes see characters twice at this location.

I also love Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House and the breakfast at Cape May Cafe. The breakfast food is excellent at both of these locations.

Cinderella's Castle is special, too! The food is good, and there is just something about being in the castle that is magical.

The Crystal Palace has the dubious honor of serving one of my best Disney breakfasts and probably my single worst Disney dining experience ever. The very first time I dined at the Crystal Palace was near the end of their breakfast buffet. There was no omelet station. The buffet was messy and many things were near empty. The food was cold and the service was slow. Everything around us was dirty and no one was cleaning. And our server was rude. It was an awful and disappointing breakfast. Since that visit, I have returned twice and had wonderful breakfasts that were downright dreamy! Both times, I have dined before the official park opening, and the buffet was full of yummy things and the hot food was hot. The place was crystal clear clean and beautiful and the service was WONDERFUL. We dine early there now. That one bad experience was during December, and the cast members must have just been overwhelmed that day. Glad I gave it another chance! Cause they really are wonderful there.

Ohana's is our family's favorite & I think we have gone every time we've been at Disney.

The family style buffet is relaxing, and the juice is yummy. The characters are always lots of fun too.

Cape May for sure.

The character interaction is second to none and the food is great. The dining room is set up in such a way that there seems to be very little chaos when the characters start walking around.

We also love 1900 Park Fare but it is set up in such a way that there seems to be a constant frenzy when the characters are walking around.

Chef Mickey's is fun. Great character interaction, and MICKEY! My first :lovestruc. The food is ok, what I would expect from a buffet, nothing spectacular.

1900 Park Faire is very good, and I liked that it felt like a 'high end' buffet. The servers were wonderful, and the Wicked StepSisters were so much fun! I think I am the only person in the entire world that didn't like the strawberry soup, but I know that is a big draw for that restaurant.

Crystal Palace is an absolute MUST DO for us. We had one of the VERY best CM interactions I have ever experienced at any Disney park at this restaurant. The food is superb. We had the first dining time, and were in a rush to complete our meal because we had a backstage tour scheduled. The night before, we had attended MNSSHP and I had lost my camera! :scared1: with 5 DAYS of pictures on the memory card!!! :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: Eeyore is my DD's favorite character. When we were seated, I asked our server if it was possible that we would be able to see Eeyore before we left. He directed Eeyore over to our table as soon as we had our food. The look on my teenage daughter's face still makes me teary! :lovestruc When the CM offered to take a picture with our camera, I explained to him that I had lost it the night before. :sad1: As we were finishing up our meal, he (our server) came RUNNING up to us, out of breath, and handed me a disposible camera! And then he brought Eeyore back to us for another meet, so I was able to capture the moment. I will never forget that.

I voted for CRT but I also LOVE a lot of the others. If I could only pick one :scared1: I would choose CRT especially with the age of your children. CRT is always on our list of must do but on the other hand so is CP, Ohana, and Garden Grill (dinner though). My kids (10 and 14) still say we HAVE to visit all of those. Hope you have a great time planning :goodvibes

I voted for Tusker House, but it's really a toss-up for me between that and Cape May character breakfast. I'd say whichever one works better for your plans that day.

We have done both the Cape May and Ohana and found the food at Cape May to be better and the character interaction was great.

We prefer Tusker House.. their buffet has a good selection and decent character interaction.

We tried Cape May a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. It's smaller but not as busy as the others, so we got to relax and the characters kept coming back to our table, unlike some other places where they seemed rushed due to the sheer volume of tables they have to visit.

The only places we haven't tried yet are TH and Cape May (we have been to 1900PF and CRT for dinner), but our favorite from the rest is CP, with Ohana as a close second.

CP wins for 1 reason--location, location, location. We ate there before park opening last trip and nothing beats walking up an empty Main St.:cloud9:

Ohana had great food and characters like CP, but I really liked that you didn't have to get up and go to the buffett.

Crystal Palace: ask for a view of the castle...pick up some french toast pieces off the kids' buffet table. Soooo good!

I voted for Cape May Cafe...it is one of our favorite character meals on property. The food is always hot and fresh while the service and character interaction is awesome. Our second favorite is Akershus breakfast (Storybook dining) and Crystal Palace. Good luck with whatever you choose and be sure to go onto allears.net and check out the different menus before deciding.

I chose Crystal Palace, but we also love Tusker House, so that is a very close second for us. I think both places have a good quality of food and nice selections. The character experiences are also great at both. I have to give that slight edge to CP mainly because of the wonderful location being at MK, I just love it there!
