Hi everyone - I need some opinions!! :goodvibes

What is your favorite breakfast restaurant that fits the following criteria:

1) CLOSE to Disney World (within a few miles)

2) CHEAP, but good food

3) Can be a Disney one, but doesn't have to be

4) Can be a regular restaurant or a buffet, but it should be sit-down restaurant if possible.

Any recommendations?

my 2009 UG since we don't usually eat outside the world. The ones they mentioned were buffet type steak places that served breakfast buffets also or Shoney's.

I'd go with Boma if you're not interested in characters. (which weren't on your list) It's slightly less expensive than Crystal palace, which is the best of the breakfast character buffets I have tried, and has much better food.

Another option is the House of Blues Gospel Brunch. It's brunch and not purely breakfast and it is only on Sundays, but the food is good and the entertainment rousing.

Disney buffets are nice (we prefer Cape May's for breakfast) but aren't necessarily 'cheap'. :)

Many people really enjoy the Golden Corral near DTD (there are several and it is my understanding that not all are equally as clean and good). The one that seems to get the most positive reviews is the one near Premium Outlets.

Bob Evan's has really good biscuits and gravy (if you like that sort of food). We don't care for Perkins, and refuse to eat at Denny's so not much help to you there.

Sunshine Seasons in The Land building in EPCOT's Future World has a really good selection of items for breakfast. We've shared a single adult portion there before as it was so large!

Boma is just incredible, I could eat there every day!

Golden Coral was voted best off property breakfast buffet, and We loved them. It costs about $7.00 per person, they have everything you can imagine and they include drinks. Stay away from the $2.99 specials you'll elsewhere they are not good. But if you check the golden coral website you'll find locations. I believe there is one at the end of vineland rd near the Mary the queen of the universe shrine.

IN the MK, Crystal Palace. I LOVED it. and we are going back there when we go back in '09!!!

I prefer non-buffets whenever possible, so I'm going to go with Kona. Grand Floridian Cafe is also great.

My favorites are Tusker House and Crystal Palace. I wouldn't consider them cheap though.

Shoney's and Cracker Barrel on 192 just past Celebration are good if you are looking for something off site.

We ate in the Cape May buffet at the Beach Club this past October and it was great but like the other poster said, we thought it was a good deal because it's all you can eat and we were only 2 adults, but some other people might not consider it cheap.

I highly recommend Boma at Animal Kingdom for breakfast. Click on the following link to see our review with pictures:

I'm getting excited. I've got breakfast reservations over the holidays at Boma and Kona!

We're all adults and didn't really care about the character breakfasts. I had Chef Mickey's, but everything I read talked about it being loud and rather chaotic, so I cancelled it. I'm really looking forward to Boma and Kona though. They both sound wonderful! :)

not to disagree with others but..............the off site "head em up move em out" type of breakfast is more like being in line when the doors open at Wal Mart on black friday, it seemed like a good idea when you planned it but a few minutes in you wonder what in hell you were thinking.

Im a big breakfast guy. I usually have a big breakfast, late lunch, and skip dinner while visiting the parks. The character breakfasts are good but not cheap. They also share many of the same foods. Also I would not completely classify them as "sit down." You gotta go with Kona. All the food is great and they have the best breakfast dish in all of dw...Tonga Toast.

Another vote for Kona cafe and tonga toast!!!!

Kona also has the best coffee on property, whether you get "regular" or splurge for the kona variety.....and do try the French press, IMHO it is totally worth the money! :cloud9:

For us, our favorite breakfast is Chef Mickey's (except that we always do it as a goodbye on the day we leave, so it's always bitter sweet.)
The food is great. We were thre 2 weeks ago and they had added french toast and it was fantastic. We love it so mcuh there it is the only place we have gone to on every single one of our trips.

I believe the "cheapest" b'fast w/ good food at WDW is Trails End @ Ft Wilderness. It is a buffet. It does not have as large a selection as some of the others mentioned, but it is good food.

For a relatively inexpensive on-site meal ($15.99), you can't beat the buffet at Captain's Grille at Yacht Club. We thought it had more items than several of the character breakfasts (Chef Mickey's, Cape May and Hollywood & Vine come to mind) and it was all pretty yummy. It's an undiscovered gem, IMO.
