We are just looking for the best AYCE family style or buffet.

We loved Cape May Cafe, but are doing the Clam bake so we wanted something other than that.

Here are the things we as a family enjoy!

Mickey Waffles
Croissants and Bread
Eggs
Bacon
Sausage
Potatoes
Biscuts and Gravy
Fruit
Cereal
ETC!

FUN!!

What is the best Character place for these types of meals?

What is the best Non Character place for these Breakfast meals

Non character - maybe check out the breakfast buffet at Pepper Market at CSR.....

Character - we love 1900 Park Fair, and we trying Tusker House this trip due to reading all of the great reviews.

Thanks for posting this I have not done any of the breakfast buffets and me and my son like the same foods. I have down Chef Mickey's but now I am thinking to change it. I was contemplating both Cape May, Tusker or 1900 Park Fare, I don't know what to do now. We are only doing one breakfast for our stay. :confused3

Non character - both Captain's Grille at Yacht Club and Trail's End at Fort Wilderness have all the basics and are very good. At Captain's Grille, you can also order off the menu, or request something off the menu if you are eating at the buffet.

For a slightly more interesting breakfast buffet, try the Wave at the Contemporary. The food is healthier, like whole grain Mickey Waffles. They have awesome sweet potato pancakes and delicious chicken breakfast sausage.

Is this true, and is it only certain thins you can request? We're thinking about the Captain's Grille, and this may tip the scales!

Last April we did Hollywood & Vine in HS for breakfast and are doing it again because it was soooooooo good! Great breakfast buffet with great characters. And for us, even though it was Spring Break time, not very crowded. We got good pics with them, and if I recall, I think they made it around twice.

Best non-character buffet-Boma

Best with characters-Tusker House

for more traditional food, Trails End at Fort Wilderness is great! We've been going there for at least the last 10 years, food is always good! But, it does take some time getting there and back, as we usually take the boat over.. and i've heard if you park there it's a little bit of a walk to the restaurant.

for something different, Boma is awesome!

neither is a character meal.

Best non-character--Boma
Best character--it depends on what characters you want to see. We've done most of them and for breakfast the food is basically the same. O'hana is a little different if the kids are into Lilo and Stitch.

To be honest...a few places might have a little something different. Kona...Boma...GF Cafe...Kouzzina

but buy and large all the breakfasts are exactly the same. Especially the characters. So if you want to eat the "normal" stuff in big portions...all the buffets or family styles will give you roughly the same food.

I would like to plug Wolfgang Puck Express Marketplace again...as it's honestly the best breakfast food you can get on disney property.

But all the other suggestions so far have been good.

chef mickey's, cinderellas, and hollywood and vine are lower quality food on the whole for the character thing

tusker house, 1900 park fare, and crystal palace seem to be better.

boma, gf cafe, whispering canyon, kona give you a good breakfast a la carte, sans characters.

hope this helps

THANK YOU!!

I am really happy with all your responses.

We definitey want a character breakfast.

Everyone has raved about Chef's Mickeys for so long and now I am seeing through so many posts that the reviews aren't the best!!

We definitley don't want it to be a place like an Old Country Buffet or something along those lines! YUCK!

That is good to hear that about Fort Widerness! We actually stayed there for a night this past summer and didn't eat there at all. I brought all of our food!

So over all the Character breakfasts look like 1900 Park!!

You guys are awesome!1

As for CSR, we are staying there for our trip and will probably be grabbing a few meals there too!!

Tusker house had some different dishes to choose from, the juice was also different, delicious too:)

Our two favorites are Tusker House and Crystal Palace. Not just for the characters, but for the food. They have everything on your list and more.

At Tusker, my husband loves the mealy pap and other more traditional offerings, while my son grabs several chocolate croissants.

At Crystal Palace, my husband and I both fight over the Pooh Ears (puffed french toast)

If you want to go somewhere with no characters though, I would suggest Boma.

Our favorite Character Breakfasts are 1900 Park Fare and Crystal Palace. Not big Pooh fans, but the food was good.

We've only been to Boma as a non-character. We have been there twice and have enjoyed it very much.

Best character breakfast, IMHO, is Tusker House... soooo many food choices!! I really wanted to sample a little of everything, but there's waaaayyy too much to sample EVERYTHING.... but I did sample quite a bit.;):goodvibes
