The other night we had friends over (also DVC Members) and we talked about what we thought was the best place to eat at the Boardwalk. It turned very funny when 6 people said 6 different places for different meals and reasons.
Of just the Boardwalk, what place and for what meal, do you think is the best?

We are also New Jersey DVC members (Woodbridge)!!!! We will be spending our first vacation at BWV in 7 days (after having spent all previous vacations at OKW, including DD's wedding in 1996)!!!!!! We always enjoyed our dinners at Spoodles (the tapas menu is the best, and we love the Sangria)!!!!!!!

Dont Flame Me Please.
But Good Food and The Boardwalk dont belong in the same sentence. There all Bad.
Best Meal on the Boardwalk - Cape May, Yachtsman Steakhouse or just about anything on the other side of the lake including the ones in the Swan and Dolphin.

Having eaten at Spoodles twice, both times I was more than pleased with the food and would go as far as to say that the meals were excellent... the BlueZoo was exceptional, with a pricetag to match!... IMHO, the Yachtsman is over-rated, but that may be the midwestern prime beef in me talkin'... Big River Brewery food is mediocre (but i've been there three times and keep going back for the great suds)... ESPN makes an outstanding burger and fries, on par with the tops i've had anywhere... As for Cape May, never tried it...

On Boardwalk I would say Flying Fish, although it is not as good as it used to be.

Cape May is on our list of "Visit Every Year" - very good food. ESPN chili dogs and chili fries are very delicious. Flying Fish is yummy, but expensive. Spoodles is good, too. That's my order. ;)

I would go with Flying Fish as well

If you want to share appetizers and have sangria than Spoodles will work as well

Cape May with the clambake does not appeal to us and the Yachtsman feels stuffy to us

Have not eaten at S&D yet

thanks

I don't care for any of the restaurants on the Boardwalk. To be fair I haven't tried ESPN club. My brothers have and love it so maybe?;)
However the hot dog stand is our fave, a hot dog mustard, relish and onion is fine for me!::yes::

We have found all the Epcot resort restaurants to be very good but our favorite by far is Flying Fish.

LOL!! I agree! Of course, I think for the same reason. We have such great beef in the midwest, that I've yet to find a piece of beef in Florida that I think was worth the money. In fact, I generally avoid beef in Florida like the plague, preferring to stick to grouper (which you can't good in the midwest unless it's flown in from Florida). LOL

I've eaten at the ESPN Club a handful of times over the years and have never been disappointed. This last trip, DW was kind enough to grab takeout for dinner one night. We ordered two entrees (sandwich, fries) and an appetizer. The containers she brought back to the room had enough food for 4-5 people!!! We didn't eat half of it, and the food was very food. It's mostly "Counter Service" type items, but the quality was much better than the stuff you get at any of the theme parks.

We also had breakfast at Spoodles. I tried something called "The Italian", which is a spicy skillet dish with potatoes, poached eggs, peppers, etc. I wasn't particularly impressed with my meal. DW stuck with the standard eggs, potatoes, bacon and toast, and her meal was fine. Hard to screw that up. ;)

Unless the price is an objection, I don't know how anyone could not like Flying Fish. ESPN is outstanding for the type of food they serve. Best wings in WDW and a T.V. set every where you turn (even the bathroom).

Give me a simple meal in my room - ANYDAY! I just can't bring myself to pay the prices for the restaurants on the BW. We got desperate one night when my parents were meeting us. They had just arrived so we couldn't go to Epcot which would have been my choice. I hadn't had the opportunity to grocery shop yet, so we tried the Brewery. I did not like it one bit. I will probably never go to any of the other restaurants on the BW either. It's just not my thing. I'd walk to Canada or Japan ;) before doing that again.

With Epcot so close, I practically consider the Epcto restaurants as being on the Boardwalk. I've walked into Epcot before just to grab some Fish & Chips, and then head back out to the resort again.

Also NJ DVC owner... Just got back 5/26 from BWV..

Keeping on topic which is the best Boardwalk Eatery...

We enjoy Spoodles although didn't eat on boardwalk this trip.. Did have the "Crepe on a Stick" from the concession stand though and Bakery stuff for breakfast...Yum!!

Although none are our favorite, it's still good food...

We'll be back to BWV for Christmas not sure if we'll be eating there or not yet..

Spoodles! We like most of them, except the ESPN club, it is standard grill food. The Flying Fish is excellent, but a little over priced. Each time we eat at Spoodles, the food is better than we remember.
Not on the Boardwalk, but I must agree that the Yachtsman is overrated. It is good food, but not as good as a Flemmings or Mortons, but in the same price range. Again, raised in the midwest, maybe that changes our perspective on a good steak.

My favorite place for breakfast in the whole parks is Spoodles. I haven't eaten there for dinner yet.

The only one I didn't care for was the Brewery (can't remember the name, maybe Big River Brewery and Grille?). Nothing really wrong with it, just didn't care for it.
