best beach to visit

Look around this forum - you'll find lots of similar questions.

This can't be answered without knowing what you're looking for - do you have kids ( what ages?) or not, are you into surfing or just strolling the beach, do you want a boardwalk type feel ( pretty rare, but Santa Monica and Venice are close )?

If you are at DLR I would suggest Newport Beach. But it depends on what you want to do. Walk? Go in the water? Drive? Dine? Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach are also near DLR and are good options. Newport is my favorite in the DLR Orange County area.
