Which are the best bars/restaurants to spend a few hours on an evening on the i-drive? I'm looking for different places, where would be the best place to watch the NFL games :drinking1 - I'm not interested in the British pubs - any ideas?

Will second the recommendation for Friday's Front Row (not that it interests me in the slightest ;) )

Unless times have changed dramatically there are no good bars on I Drive. In all honesty I don't think there are too many in the area.
The few we like are well spread out.

My dh, Matt (Boss Hogg) has obviously missed this thread! I'm sure I can speak for him in saying that he'd definitely recommend Hooters at Pointe Orlando! (Or Hooters anywhere, come to that!). Beer and...erm...hooters are probably his two favourite things. ;)

Whilst we've never been to the Kirkman Road location (just off I-Drive), we love Miller's Ale House. They have about a k-zillion beers on tap and usually have at least one very cheap. Dh was drinking one (can't remember which) for $1.75 a pint back in May. Their Zingers (boneless chicken wings) are excellent for people like me who can't be doing with the bones. Not quite sure how they manage to get rid of the bones and they're still like wings. :confused3

Another vote for Hooters from me!.......however the waitresses can be very persuasive about the size of your tips!

Is Hooters over 21's only?
No, surprisingly perhaps, we always see quite a few families with young children. Mind you, Matt always acts like a child when he's there - dribbling, grizzling because he's not allowed to play with the 'toys'... :rotfl2:

I must be getting old or losing my sight, as I did miss this thread – normally I can smell ‘em a mile off.

Deb is correct about my love of Hooters (or Utopia as I like to call it), albeit in my defence I only ever go to keep a certain Mr Stringer company as he’s scared of going in on his own!

Just imagine it, cold beer, fried chicken and very pleasant waiting staff – what more could you possibly want?

A tip for the guys out there, if you find yourselves in a Hooters, always order beer in 3’s or 4’s as they have a very interesting way of carrying that many drinks ;):earseek: :earseek:

The added bonus of Hooters is that it is not in the bit seedy so one can come and go without having to be wearing a long mac, hat and dark glasses.

The beer Deb couldn’t remember was Icehouse. I seem to recall that there were a couple more at $1.75 a pint – Miller Genuine Draft was one I recall. None were the best of beers, but they were nice and cold and at $1.75 who cares??

They’ve also got a million TV screens, so if you want to watch sport this is the place to go, and the one we were in were more than happy to change the channel so I could watch a particular Basketball game. Again cold beer and fried chicken are present – the food of champions.

My only other thought, which I guess isn’t quite I-Drive is ESPN at Boardwalk, which I am also rather partial to, albeit this is also as a resting place when you’ve done your third lap of World Showcase.

Anyway, all this talk of cold beer gives me an idea – time to have one!!
