I was wondering about the bars at WDW - I have only been to spots at Downtown Disney, so I'm not familiar with any of the other bars/lounges on property.

Outside of Downtown Disney...which bars/lounges do you like to visit? Why?

DTD Pleasure Island is where we would mostly go.... but now its gone... can't wait to see what replaces it!

Alternative.. JellyRolls... located on the Boardwalk... dueling piano... cover charge $10 if I remember correctly.

Jellyrolls is by far our favorite place for a grown-ups night out. The piano players are great performers.:thumbsup2

The only ones I can think of with entertainment that are not located at Downtown Disney (absent Pleasure Island which is now closed) are:

Rix Cafe, Coronado Springs
Jellyrolls, Boardwalk (cover charge)
The bar at POR, whatever it's called, I understand they have a piano player.
Kimonos at the Swan has karaoke.
I think Tambu Lounge is entertaining just to watch everyone trying to check in to eat at Ohana.

Thanks for all of the responses so far. I'm planning a "girls only" get together for some friends and though we're quite past the party party party stage, we still like to go out and have a nice drink in a fun place.

We enjoyed ESPN while staying at BWI. Not to mention the BW itself. But also Victoria Falls at AKL was nice too. :goodvibes

Atlantic Dance Hall @ Boardwalk was open, when we walked by a couple weeks ago. They were advertising having a DJ.

Almost all the resorts have bars or lounges. They used to have specialty drinks for each of the bars... but I hear all of WDW is going towards a unified bar menu.

I loved the bar at the Contemporary... comfy chairs, great drinks, and great views... but unfortunately it has closed.

Tambu Lounge in the Polynesian is great too... they still have specialty drinks and its a great environment.

Around World Showcase in Epcot has some great places to have a drink also... you can sip on cocktails from different countries listening to the music and surrounded by the architecture...

Unforunately World Showcase closes at 9:30, except on EMH nights. A lot of us are struggling for what to do AFTER the parks are closed. So little!

I hear ya & that's why I wanted to know where else people like to go! 9:30 is not our bedtime ;)

We'll probably be staying in a moderate resort, but wouldn't mind driving (with a dd of course) to another resort for an hour or two of relaxing with cocktails.

I've been to the boardwalk during the day when neither Jellyrolls or the dance club were open. What is it like in these places? I know Jellyrolls has the piano players...

I did some more searching and I found this http://www.rix-lounge.com/

Has anyone been to Rix Lounge at the Coronado Springs? It's open until 2 am and looks like fun.

Also, I had a question...say we wanted to go to Tambu Lounge for a drink, would we be able to park at the Poly? I've heard that for the MK resorts you need a reservation to park and of course, for a bar there would be no ressie.

Such a dilemma in the post-Adventurers-Club era.

We really had a good time at Kimonos at the Swan this past July. Fun crowd, great bartenders, and after a few shots the karaoke machine was calling our name! :rockband:

I personally would not recommeng making a special trip to Tambu lounge. We stayed at Poly last trip, and didn't think it was all that interesting a place. But if you're headed there for dinner at Kona or something, it might be worth it.

Rix sure looks cool. I had no idea! Swanky! I wonder what it is like in person...

I miss AC like the dickens... :(

I am not sure....does Disney still allow smoking inside their bars. If so, both Kimono's, which I love, and Jellyrolls allows smoking. I cannot go into Jellyrolls, it can get so smokey in there..... This is not a thread fighting about smoking, it is just one person's opinion about what after hours places I would frequent but cannot because of the smoke.

Jellyrolls can be so much fun and Karaoke at Kimono's just a blast.. if not for the smoking thing..

My adult kids went to Rix at CSR Friday night of Columbus Day weekend. They left after one drink, there were just a handful of people there...it was dead. They headed to Atlantic Dance which at least had a bigger crowd. When ATlantic Dance closed, you can get into Jellyrolls without paying the cover charge. Boy, do we miss PI.

That's interesting. If it was dead on a Friday it's probably not ever too busy - maybe we'd just go there if we end up staying at CSR.
Kimono's sounds like fun.

Disney does not permit smoking inside any of its establishments. Jellyrolls is not owned by Disney. Florida law is now that if an establishment serves food, it must be smoke free, so I doubt they still permit smoking in Kimonos.

Rix no doubt suffers from distance and transportation issues. If you don't have a car (and if you have one, hopefully someone's not drinking) CSR is difficult to travel to and back from another resort. Its main clientele is no doubt going to be conventioners staying at CSR.

My favorite bar anywhere is Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk. There is a cover charge to get in, but it is well worth the price. I try to make it over there atleast once every visit!
