Best B-day event?

As I have mentioned we will be attending DL Oct 6th-10th for the first time. We will be celebrating my DD 7th b-day and mine while at DL. I'm for sure taking her to the trick or treat party for her birthday, but am wondering what I should do about a cake. I know they have a treasure chest with toys and a cake, but am wondering is it worth it? I know they have other options like Party with Pat E Cake. Someone posted a picture of the "whole kitchen sink" it looks amazing. Does anyone have pictures of the other b-day options. Thanks

We did the birthday bucket for DDs 4th bday. From pics I've seen of Pat-E-Cake, I would have rather done that. They didn't have the Princess birthday bucket (which I requested with our PS) and it is full of some toys with a small cake on top. The Pat-E-Cake looks bigger and more fun, especially for an older child to decorate.

We went as a party of 7 for my son's 5th birthday. Cute. Really nice that it was in the park. The little cakes don't taste great. But to be in a big group all celebrating their birthdays together was great for my son.

We hated the Pat E. Cake Party....we had our 8 & 3 yr old at it. It cost $15.99 per person & runs about 40 mins. You get to see Mickey & Minnie just long enough to get a picture with them......but don't even think about pulling out an autograph book....they won't sign them.
So for this price, I'd rather pay for a character meal & get some real good character interaction, plus a great meal. My kids love doing these & they can bring out a birthday dessert & sing....just let them know when you check in.

unfortunately we didn't have a good experience at a character meal for my son's bday. I even had the DLH bakery make a special cake for the table (imo not a cake worth its $$..that's for another post) and they couldn't have bothered less with my son. We ended up having to remind the staff we needed them to come sing happy birthday with the cake. Not a balloon..nothing. Hard to explain to a 5 yr old why other kids had balloons and he didn't.

I think sometimes it just depends on the cast member on that given day. OP - whatever decision you make will be great. Birthdays at DL can't be beat. My son is turning 7 and still talks about his birthday at DL.

For my birthday (14) and my little sisters (5) we went over Thanksgiving week. We go many times a year but decided we would try the bucket. My mom requested a Princess bucket for each one of us but they were out of the buckets so we ended up with a mickey bucket. It included a Happy Birthday pin (im a pin collector, it was wonderful) a small mickey key chain and a button. The cake on top tasted horrible, maybe it was just my taste buds. But it seemed way to rich for me. We did it at Goofy's kitchen and Alice and The mad Hatter brought it to us and the whole rest. sang to us. It was enjoyable. Hope this helps.
