One more questions for the jogging experts. We are staying at SOG so we will be near the magic kingdom resorts. DH has jogged a time or two before but has never really found a good place for a nice long run.

We have run on the path around the lake at the BW, YC/BC area, down to MGM and back. I have heard there is another path that connects somewhere over there (making it a longer run), but I don't know where. The route we did wasn't that long of a run, but I guess you could do it multiple times. I know there are jogging maps on allearsnet.com. If anyone knows of some other "longer" runs, please let me know. We leave on Fri.
Have fun!

Since you're near the MK resorts, I can offer 2 suggestions. One is the "nature trail" between WL and FW. I've never been on it, but people say it's great for walking. So jogging should work well on it, I would imagine.

Also, there is a walkway between the Poly and GF that might also be a decent jogging area. This walkway is fairly short, though, so a decent workout of a jog might involve several trips back and forth.

We run between the POLY and the GF when we are staying at either one of them. We have even ran around the Golf Course at SOG. We kind of just start and make our own course.

When we are at the BC/YC/BW we run around the lake.

We usually start around 6:00 and it is simply a wonderful and beautiful way to start the day.

when it was the Disney Inn there was a path between it and the Polyn.

so just tell him to run to the polyn - then if he still wants to run - the beach area at the 7 seas lagoon.

he could run along the walk that connects all the MK resort - but it is way to busy to nice for jogging.

I am not sure what constitutes a "nice long run" for your husband. I also don't know if your husband will be able to travel from one resort to another, but I recently stayed at CBR and was able to run 2 miles around the lake and down to Trinidad South without having to double back over my previous path. Some mornings I only wanted to run 2 miles (something about sore feet from being in the parks all day). When I wanted to run 3+ miles I continued past Trinidad South over a short area of service road and into the parking lot of POP century. From there I ran past the lake and through the POP resort and then back to CBR. My starting point was Barbados. I ran 7 days straight and never got bored. I wish I was still running there now.

Fellow joggers - if you are considering a moderate resort, CBR is great for running for the reasons I mentioned. Much, much better than POR.

Thanks everyone for the help. I will check out allearsnet for jogging maps. We will have a car so he could drive to an area(CBR?) if he so desired. He will probably do a couple of 4 mile and one 6 or 7 mile if he can (that's a guess from someone who is not currently running). We did run one year from SOG to Poly to GF and back and I think it was only 4 miles (just a guess). He's running a race on 10-29 that is 15K. We will be at WDW Oct 15 through the 22 so it's too close to skip out on the running. We are not sure about the golf trails around SOG because of the Disney golf tournament going on during our stay. :goodvibes

okay - go to the Polyn then run to the TTC - back route through the bus terminal to WL - then he has both WL and FW to run around.

FW has a plenty of room.

or you could drive him to WL.

fw is a sem-wilderness area. So if he would rather see beautiful buildings than nature - then go with CBR.

Just stay off the roads. They are a bit dangerous for runners/joggers/bikers. If you go from TTC to WL, you may have to go on the roadway.

This is exactly what I remember from our jog...the roads seemed dangerous! Hopefully we will get a path figured out that is safe. :goodvibes
