In two weeks, we'll be dining for the first time at Ca. Grill. I'm so excited and pretty sure that my husband and I will be ordering the oak fired filet and the pork tenderloin. But I'm not sure what to order for an appetizer. Here are what I think are the latest options, plus there's always one of the flatbreaks. Can you guys give me your advice on what appetizer you've had and really enjoyed? Thanks

First Course
Zuckerman's Farm Grilled Asparagus Tart - with English peas, and aged sherry vinaigrette $15

Crispy Asian Rock Shrimp Salad - with Asian pears, red onions, soy reduction, and wasabi cream $17

Roasted Heirloom Beets - Fennel, citrus, spiced pecans, beet vinaigrette, and Belle Chevre "Croutons"* $14

Crispy Pork Belly - with pomegrenate and maple Flageolet puree, spiced Lacquer, and caramelized salsify $16

Creamy Spring Onion Soup - with Hearts of Palm, blue lump cramp, piquillo peppers, and toasted sourdough $11

Hearts of Romaine - with Roasted Garlic Dressing, Marinated Anchovies, Olives, Aged Parmesan, and Croutons $11

Maine Lobster Salad - with avocado and yogurt dressing, jicama, and local Honeybell vinaigrette $18

Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli - with Sun-dried Tomatoes, Pesto, Shiitake Mushrooms, and Basil* $14

I've heard rave reviews about their sushi but I've never eaten it and not sure that I want to. So I'll probably stick with a flatbread or one of these appetizers.

We always get s sushi sampler platter. It is not on the menu but they will make one for you if you ask. Not sure if sushi is your thing though. I don't like the tuna rolls but DH does. I eat the veggie rolls or shrimp tempura.

we also like the spicy kazan roll and although my family loves sushi i'm a little less enthusiastic and thought it tasted great. for myself i love love love the cheese plate and at other times i the goat cheese ravioli.

If you change your mind and try the sushi, the California Roll and Shrimp Tempura Roll (both are cooked)....to die for! The Shrimp Tempura wasn't on the menu. I was pregnant at the time and could only have cooked sushi. The server asked what I wanted and the sushi chef prepared it. Soooo good!!!

:wizard: Is the goat cheese ravioli one big ravioli? Is it possible to share it?

We ate there last month and that soup is no longer an option, it is a roasted corn that was to die for..pic in my May thread

I had the rock shrimp salad in Nov and it was fantastic but it was huge and could have been my meal

My DH and I dined at CG in May and we ordered the Yellowfin Tuna Three Ways. It was fantastic. When we were there in May there was a vegetable flatbread and it was really good too.

I've never tried any of those appetizers, but I've had one of their flatbreads before, something with figs and blue cheese, and that was fantastic.

We'll be there in 2 weeks too! 2 weeks from Sunday to be exact! I've had the ravioli once, it was very good. The veg or cheese flat bread is what I usually get and it is excellent. My DH usually gets the cali roll and it is excellent too. I'm sure anything you pick will be good, just go with what you feel like eating.

Yes it is one big ravioli but you could always cut it I guess and share but its not really that big if you are only getting that.

I vote for the goat cheese ravioli! Sooo yummy! ETA: DH and I have just split one as an appetizer before. No, it's not a lot of food - but there's so much food between entree and dessert (which we've usually gotten), that it's more than enough food for us overall

we had the lobster risotto when we were there

it isn't on the menu but is often a special - so if they offer it I really suggest that as it is one of the best things we have ever had period

- and they spit it into two separate bowls for us as we said we would be sharing it which was nice
