I'm buying Copper Creek through Disney, but I want to purchase Bay Lake Tower also through resale. Just wondering which site all of you have used. Which ones are safe or not? Would love to hear all of your experiences good or bad! Thank you!!

You'll be better off finding a contract that appeals (and matches UY of your CCV contract) then asking about the broker. When seeking out specific resale, it's best not to limit yourself.

Here are some of the DVC resale brokers often mentioned on the DIS:

The Timeshare Store (a DIS sponsor) - http://www.dvc-resales.com
Fidelity Resales - http://fidelityresales.com/
DVC by Resale - http://www.dvcbyresale.com/
Selling Timeshares - http://www.sellingtimeshares.net
DVC Magic Resales - http://www.DVCmagicresales.com
DVC Resale Market - http://www.dvcresalemarket.com/

You can do a search to find threads discussing them. The TImeshare Store has sponsored the DIS DVC Forums for several years and has a vert good reputation.

I would have bought BLT resale first then a small direct contract for the benefits. I also like the idea of owning an Epcot/DHS resale contract for stays in that area.

If you happy with your CCV purchase great, if you need time to consider other choices and saving thousands of dollars, you have 10 days from the date you sign to rescind the contract without penalty.

Thank you so much!! This is perfect, exactly what I was looking for! Thanks again!!!

DEFINITELY BUY RESALE FIRST. Or at least get one to ROFR first.
If you buy Copper creek first, you will be limiting yourself to resale contracts that match that same UY -- which significantly closes off your opportunity to find better deals.

Also make sure you title the deeds EXACTLY the same.

I'm sure some resale sites/companies are better than others, but just go with whoever has the contract you want. I'd buy from whoever if they had the contract I wanted at a fair price.

I bought my contract from dvcresalemarket.com and had a good experience

Zombie thread!

Yes, totally my bad. I use this thread to easily click on links. I had two windows open of The Dis message board and accidently posted in the wrong thread. Unfortunately, since I couldn't figure out how to delete my reply, I just altered it. Sorry about that!

We used Fidelity for one of our resale contracts, and DVC Resale Market for the other 2. We had positive experiences with both.

Do y'all have any insight on David's DVC Rentals?

I have rented from them 4 different times. Great customer service, no issues. I have read mixed (mostly negative) reviews about those who rented via them during COVID. I don't believe there were any winners during that time....so unforunate for everyone involved.

We used DVC Resale Market. I do think they will list contracts for what the seller asks them to even if it's high. We are about to close on an AKL contract, right away we offered 10% less than asking and the sellers accepted. Our agent Randy said we would likely get a counter office but you never know till you ask. I liked that approach. They were not afraid to present my offer and try to make the deal.

I don’t know if there is a best. At first I was mostly looking at DVC Resale Market just because they seemed to have the most contracts for sale. But they never had the contract that I wanted pop up, once I noticed that their prices seem to be going up quicker than some of the others, I decided to start checking out all the other reputable sites as well. I ended up finding what I was looking for on another site at a good price… now I just have to pass ROFR. Point is look around and don’t limit yourself. The best is the one who has what your looking for at a price you are happy with.

Broker is a broker really, they dont actually do much besides put a buyer and seller together.

What you really wanna focus on is the title company, they are the ones who send to ROFR timely, work to get the estoppel, put all the closing docs together and send out timely, get everything in line to close timely, and then close and send everything over to DVD to start the process of them doing their stuff.

Title company to me is way more important than the broker, they dont actually have much hand in it once they connect buyer and seller and hand off to title.

BIG fyi, you can pick your title company!

The title company thing was something DVC Resale Market did not mention and I was not happy about it. I learned about a week too late.

What title company do you prefer?
Granted I've only dealt with the one, but Mason Title did our resale and Cammie with them was pretty great. They handled everything on their end very efficiently.
