Which resort resaurant, besides V&A, has the best ambience? Looking for a special place with a nice atmosphere for DH and I, (no kids) on Mother's Day.

Citrico's at the GF is beautiful, upscale, (relatively) quiet, and has great food and service. Artist Point at the WL is a bit more relaxed - but also a bit less pricey - with similarly good food and service, and has a gorgeous view of the Lodge grounds through huge picture windows.

I really enjoyed the Yachtsman Steakhouse, if you like steaks. Of course, I also really like the whole "Yacht motif" that they have here.

The food is excellent as well!

My dh and I got to spend a few days at WDW without our ds and we were careful at picking restaurants that "we" would enjoy. We too were looking for leisurely ambience. Our favorite was probably California Grill. We enjoy this with the kids but it was a nicer experience without. We spent some time in the resort, shopping and had a drink at the lounge (I can't remember the name but it has a great view). We also had a great dinner at Flying Fish but my dh thought it was too loud. It was nice afterward to spend time on the boardwalk. A nice dinner in Epcot is at Marrakesh. Very interesting and tasty food with unique entertainment and then you have easy access to the boardwalk. The Artist Point provides a wonderful atmosphere as stated before and the Territory Lounge is nice for before or after drinks. The lobby itself is enjoyable to spend time in.
:D

Citricos is nice and relatively quiet by Disney standards.
California Grill is a great spot, but noisy. If you ask to be seated in the "wine room", it is a lot less noisy and hectic.
Palio is also nice--agin relatively quiet and the strolling muscians add to the ambiance.
Jiko's over at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is nice and has an "adult" feel to it.

I agree with Uncleromulus on everything but Palio. We've eaten there two times, the second two the service was so deplorable that they lost our business forever.

I second Artist Point. Avoid "Rose and Crown" for the ambience. Great salmon, but very loud resturaunt (at least when I went).

Tough question - here would be our picks:

GF: Citrico's
CR: California Grill (get quiet area as mentioned)
WL: Artists Point
AKL: Jiko

Epcot WS: Bistro de Paris

thanks

With so many votes for Artist Pointe, we'll definitely make a PS there. Any opinions on menu choices?

You asked for Artist Point recommendations:

1) The salmon is excellent.

2) So is the buffalo steak.
I've had it several times and have always been pleased.

Ask for POK (pronounced "poke") to be your server.
Great gal!

Well, I've got a question, what type of food are you wanting? For steak I would recommend Yachtsmen steakhouse hands down!! But if you want something else I need more info:D

Naturally, food quality is important. We're not picky and like most types of food. Any beef dish, chicken or any seafood would be good. But, for this special day, the emphasis is on the atmosphere (room decor, lighting, service, etc)

My wife and I love Jiko and Artist Point.
I have to disagree with Simba's Mom :). My favorite Disney restaurant, The Rose and Crown, oozes ambience. Ooozes, I say! OMG! :)

I think I have to vote for Jiko.
Such a beautiful restaurant, great service, and wonderful food.

Wherever you decide to go, I would suggest dining late, 9:00 or so.
We had dinner at Citricos at 7:00 (I think) on our 25th anniversary. WE LOVE Citricos.
Unfortunately, we were surrounded by very unhappy babies and toddlers that night.
The "atmosphere" was not conducive to a romantic anniversary dinner!
We have learned to eat later now and it seems to be working for us.
Enjoy!

Hmmm, I never thought about children. Silly me - it IS Disney World! We will be eating earlier, since it's Mother's Day Sunday, and I suppose anywhere we go that day will have a large presence of tots!
