This will be first cruise. What are the best deals on drinks? We will be on the Dream.

Bloody Marys are on special in the morning, and Konk Coolers go on sale later in the afternoon on Castaway Cay. May be others, but those are the two I took advantage of.

If you have a Captain's reception......free drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic
Some of the activities may offer free drinks. I think the DVC presentations have them.
The drink "classes" are good deals.
"Drink of the Day" may be a good deal.

I've seen a recent post on here stating that mimosas are 1/2 price before 11:00a.
Also mixology classes seem like a good deal. About 4 drinks for $20 during your 'class'.
Cheers!! :drinking1:dancer:

Here's a tip I didn't even read about until my 6th cruise just a couple of weeks ago. If you buy the souvenir drink of the day cup (hard plastic, colored pina-colada type cup), you can get refills of any drink of the day for a little cheaper. I think it was maybe around $4.50 or $4.75 per drink with tip. It was honestly fun to try every drink of the day, although a couple of times it was getting really late if I didn't remember to do it before dinner. :) Plus, you get a nice little souvenir to take home. You can rinse it out in the stateroom sink when you're done, or exchange it for a fresh glass at any one of the bars. I'll definitely do it again!

Also - the mojito and caipirinha tasting class on Castaway Cay at 2:00 at the Heads Up Bar was FANTASTIC. They were full-sized drinks (about 5 of them) - so would definitely make most people a bit tipsy. We had about six people in the class other than my husband and myself. We took turns making the drinks and passing them out. I really like both of these types of muddled drinks, and they were made with various types of rum or vodka. Very good value, and the setting was beautiful. I'd never visited the Heads Up Bar, but it could now rank as one of my favorite places on the island.

I don't know for sure that they do the 2 for 1 drinks everyday but we have noticed them from time to time. We have been offered (at different times on different cruises) Bloody Marys, Mimosas, Margaritas, Mojitos and a couple others.

Who knew???? Is this booked at embarkation with the other tastings in LaPiazza?

Yes - it should be on the printout of all the different tastings available for the cruise. I think it must be new in the last couple of years, as we've never seen it on the Personal Navigator until more recently.

Funny thing is that our concierge host tried to talk us out of it since we had a cabana, and I think she thought that we would regret spending an hour away from the cabana. But I'm so glad we did it. The Heads up Bar is not even that far away from the family cabana area, so it worked out just great. Then walked back to the Cabana and took a little hammock nap for an hour or so until time to head back to the ship. Best afternoon ever!

I'll bet your next cruise will be more exciting now that you know there's different deals available and not only packages. Happier sailing for you!
Well, we don't drink wine or beer. And only have, maybe, 2 or 3 (alcoholic) drinks during a whole cruise. So, packages or not, we find all our cruises enjoyable.

Lots of good intel on this thread - I'll have to keeps some of these things in mind. We tend to spend most of our down time on our verandah, so we often miss the DoD specials.

You can also bring on 2 of your own bottles of wine or bring a 6 pack of beer. We spend a lot of time on our verandah too. I like to bring a bottle or two to have in the room for convenience. Plus, it's not as easy to find prosecco or cava on the ship, and I really like to drink those, or preferably champagne, on the balcony:)

If you bring your own wine, it's for consumption inside your stateroom. But call room service and they'll gladly bring you a corkscrew and wine glasses. Then get the All Hands on Deck cheese platter to go along with your wine. Specially good when you "whine" that your cruise is coming to an end :)

We didn't find any on sale, but we did go visit the server/bartender we usually saw in the evenings and visited with, and she was extremely generous in her servings sizes :) She can mix a mean martini, but was a teeny tiny bit off on the measurements for blended drinks...so she gave us the excess in a clear cup. Bought two smoothies and a konk cooler...walked away with three smoothes and two konks :) Never a bad idea to befriend the bar staff if you can! ;)
