Hello! We our having our first ever visit to Disneyland next month, and I’m looking to book a private transfer from the airport to our hotel. Does anyone have any recommendations?

We want to avoid uber and lyft, as I don’t like how you don’t know who is picking you up/availability isn’t always great. We also don’t want to do a shuttle preferably, as it is a pretty long trip for our family and we just want to get to the hotel. We will be traveling with my 18mo son so we will be bringing a car seat. Hoping for a reliable transport that is also very fast!

TIA!

We used Diamond Driver guy in July to and from Burbank airport and had a great experience. We plan on using them again in November. They also go to SNA. They communicated well and we really liked our driver. Have a fun trip!

Reality check: you have no idea who your private driver is either

Fine that you don’t want to rideshare- but don’t be fooled into any sort of false sense of security under the assumption that because it’s a Private Transfer the driver is a more known entity.

I'd suggest a taxi. You still won't know the driver but the fact that it's a regulated business may sooth your worries. The ride from SNA to DL is really not as long as you seem to think it is and the price of a taxi is very reasonable. Also, taxis are readily available right outside baggage claim at SNA

Yeah I didn't understand that part of the post either. I do like how Lyft and Uber are pretty aggressive about removing drivers from the app.

The ride from SNA is very short, taxi, Uber and Lyft are readily available and easy to find (unlike LAX), I would just do that then pay to have some specific company come get you. We had “free” private transfers in NYC recently, and the guy was stuck in traffic and over 45 minutes late to get us. If the pre-booked ride hadn’t been “free” getting a taxi or Uber would have saved us a good 40 minutes.

obviously I won’t ever “know” who is picking us up. But i’ve had enough uber and lyft experiences that were not ok to not feel comfortable to take my family that way anymore. I’ve delt with dangerous drivers (driving 20+ mph over the speed limit, sketchy maneuvers, etc) and ones that don’t even know where they are going and ask ME for directions. I just don’t want to deal with that at all, and would rather have a driver with a different establishment.

wouldn’t the taxi driver or uber/lyft driver also been stuck in traffic? Just a thought… i’d be maybe more ok with a taxi driver but I’m done with uber/lyft drivers as i’ve never had a good experience

Nope, because they are queuing nearby, and when you request a ride you get the next one in the queue, whereas this guy had a set schedule for his day, and had to come to us.

We have used Lansky, Executive Car Service LAX, and Anaheim Towncar Services for SNA-Disney and back. They all were good - I love having someone meet us within a few minutes of arriving. We have used a car service (mostly) because I don't prefer lugging booster seats from home, and many car services offer them.

We used a private car service in WDW once and the guy turned up so hung over wearing dark glasses and reeking of beer. I felt very unsafe with him. Two years ago we travelled extensively around LA and used Uber numerous times. We had nothing but spotless cars, reliability and excellent service. Another time I hd a taxi driver in New York who was so high on drugs that he was driving all over the place and we nearly crashed several times. In the end I asked him to pull over and we got out and walked. He was really pissed we cut our ride short and got really aggressive but I threw the cash at him and we dashed off. That was a really scary experience. I guess the moral of the story is you can have good and bad experiences whatever service you use.

I respect your thoughts but I agree it’s a false sense of security. Time is money, whether you choose a ride share, taxi or private/ executive transfer, so most any driver will drive aggressively. Well known, defunct transfers like Super Shuttle had high turnover because they pretty much forced drivers to drive aggressively to meet schedule. The most aggressive driving I’ve experienced came from a service that’s highly recommended here, and the driver was… the owner.

Enjoy your trip.

Karmel shuttle and Lansky are good options

Honestly an XL Lyft would be easiest
You can pre schedule Lyft rides too

I seem to recall that SNA to Disneyland via taxi is a flat rate, $20-35? And vice versa (DLR hotel to SNA)
Looking at the website for the taxi company servicing SNA this is the current Flat Rate to DLR.
I have had the taxi director increase the flat rate by $10 or $15. Now I print the information from their website. This cuts any confusion when getting a taxi for the flat rate.
