I'm sure this has been posted before but I'm wondering what would be considered the best hotel either near or on-site of Orlando's airport. Chances are, we'll have an early Saturday morning flight out of Orlando so it would be nice to be as close as possible to the airport.

Thanks,

Deb

There is the Hyatt Orlando Airport hotel which is on site at the airport or if you would like to take a chance you can go through priceline and receive a hotel for less than $40. I received the Renaissance Orlando Airport hotel for $33. If you are considering priceline go to the website BiddingforTravel.com, this will give you important information on bidding through priceline. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip Emerald!

If I'm to bid on Priceline, which areas would be close enough to the airport to consider? I was thinking the airport area itself and the Florida Mall area. Are there any other areas that are fairly close to the airport? We have an 8:30 a.m. flight on Saturday, Nov 15th. I thought the more areas I could add, the better our chances of getting a good room at a reasonable rate.

Thanks!

Hi Debbiebones,
If you decide to go through priceline the area to bid in would be the airport zone with the florida mall area being the next closes. Another thing I would recommend if bidding for a room is go for a 3 star hotel, the majority of airport hotels that are 3 star have a airport shuttle where as if you go for a lower quality hotel, 2.5 star or lower there is a good chance they won't have a shuttle that will offer free transportation. If you decide to be brave and bid on priceline I wish you good luck and encourage you to check out biddingfortravel.com this will give you a excellent idea as to how to start. There is also a way of bidding for a hotel multiple times using free rebids which is explained in detail at the website I previously mentioned. I also did a quick search on the Hyatt website for the airport hotel with a arrival of 11/14/03 departing 11/15/03 they have a prepaid rate of $119.00 and this hotel is directly in the airport.

Thanks again Emerald for the info. I took your advice and visited biddingfortravel.com, then went to priceline.com and bid in the areas mentioned as well as the Universal Studios area because that seemed fairly close (within 15 miles) and we'll have a rental car anyway.

I'm happy to report that I got a room at the Wyndham Orlando International Drive for $33! I checked on several discount sites and their regular discounted rate is something like $129 and above!

Now, I just have to do some more research to see what everyone thinks of this hotel. I figured it's only for one night for us so we'll be brave and try it at that price!

Thanks again...I'll definitely use Priceline and biddingfortravel.com in the future!

Good for you, debbiebones. I know how hard it is to take the leap into Priceline, but take my word for it, once you've tried it, it's addictive!

I stayed at the Wyndham last month and loved it. It was clean, comfortable and well maintained. I've read different reviews of this hotel on this site but I found no problems when I went last month. Have a great time!
