Best Airfare from Boston (Logan) in August?

My travel dates in August are somewhat flexible - can do either of the last two weeks. A quick search is showing some ghastly prices and travel times.
What have other folks been finding/booking? I have been spoiled by Song the last few years.

I got some terrific SW fares with SW in mid-Aug last summer. But it was the week before I flew....very last minute. I know that Delta is showing some pretty high fares right now. I'm hoping that once they get stuff sorted out the fares will come down. I'm not sure we'll see those wonderful $150 r/t, direct flights anymore...not with fuel prices the way they are.
I would just keep watching, daily, and grab a fare that meets your needs.

You hit the nail on the head with Delta/Song. They have not "fixed" the Song into Delta merge completely yet, so the inventory in the marketplace is only the very highly priced seats. I think you'll see the $517 R/T dropping to the $250 to $275 range once they fix the mechanics of the schedule and release the other fare classes (L, U, and T).

JB isn't competing much these days either, so the best I've seen for them is $292. I'd bet they'll come down a bit, but not that much.

SWA hasn't released the schedule beyond August 3rd, but you can probably get $59 or $79 one way fares out of PVD once they do.

Allegiant Air out of Worcester has $70 each way, but doesn't fly certain days and flies in and out of Sanford.

I got $74 each way on JB for August 17-22nd however I booked about 1 month ago. Checking the same flights today, they have crept up about another $50 dollars.
