My father in law just passed away, and we need to go to India within the next month. Where is the best place to look for tickets? This is such a last minute thing we did not budget for this trip, and we need 3 tickets, which are not cheap.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I am an airfare deal finder online. However, I can never match the deals my Mom gets for airfare to HK and China from a travel agent who specializes in Far East tickets. I think the commissioning for international fares are different.

Don't know if that would be the same for travel to India. I would price it out online but try to find an agent that specializes in flights to India.

My Mom goes to Chinatown for her TA.

Sorry for your family's loss. And good luck.

When my father passed, I was in Hawaii (I live in California and my Dad lived in PA). I did ask the airline at the time (United) about a discount and their discount was 10% off.
I'm so sorry for your loss.

Bereavement fares are usually no bargain. Discounted fares are a lot cheaper.

I agree that besides checking airfares on your own, you might look for a travel agent specializing in India. Don't delay; prices are just going to increase.

Thanks for all of the advice. Of course this could not have come at a worse time with the holidays and everything, but there never is a good time I guess. Now just trying to budget Christmas, this trip, and everything else we already have to pay for, it's overwhelming! Maybe I can find some good deals on these boards hopefully!

Thanks again
