We have an upcoming trip 11/19-11/25. I have been twice before but the husband and the rest of the group have never been. What is the best advice to see and do as much as we can. Should we make a plan or just wing it? We have the DDP so we will be having 1 sit down per day plus we have hoppers. TIA..

The best thing to do is not to rush things, know how to use Fast passes, pick the things that interest you, and enjoy the small details that Disney has to offer!
If you try to see everything in 5 days you will miss so much more of the little things that make Disney special!

2 days mk, 1 each for the other parks, one day of rest/disney springs shopping or water parks. Make a loose plan, get your adr's in order, and accept that everything in one trip just isn't possible.

First, understand and accept that there is no way you will see eveything. Read about the attractions and decide which you want to do the most. Come up with a good plan, without overplanning and getting stressed, and learn how to use FP+ to your advantage. Don't let it become a mission to check everything off the list. Make sure to stop and enjoy llittle things.

First, don't wing it! A little planning can go a long way. My advice is to (1) rope drop, (2) take advantage of extra magic hours, (3) plan to visit attractions in a logical order, rather than crisscrossing the parks, (4) determine which attractions are most important to you and schedule your FP+ for the ones that have the longest lines, and (5) if you need to rest, take a break, even if it's for a few hours, so you are refreshed and can enjoy the parks in the evening.

It's impossible so don't try it, if you go in expecting to see everything you are going to be disappointed. Don't over plan, trust me something is going to happen to throw a monkey wrench in all those pretty plans and you are setting yourself up for a let down. Go with a loose plan understanding it is fluid and stop and smell the roses.

great advice. we went in november 2014 for 5 nights. Definitely not enough time. It was our first time and I had no clue what I was in for. we rushed and rushed and when we got home I felt we missed a lot....fast forward our upcoming trip in April of this year. 8 nights, all adr's in place, picking fast passes on the 16th of this month and planning on slowing down and enjoying all the things we rushed by...

Your trip ends the day after Thanksgiving so you are going to see an increase in crowds with each passing day. Definitely make plans, prioritize what you want to see and do. The mornings will be less busy than afternoons so ideally try to get to the parks early. Because it will be busy in the afternoons, plan your FP+ for that time rather than in the morning. Since you have the dining plan, make reservations for the table service restaurants you want to eat at because walk ups aren't likely with the crowds. Choose restaurants in or near the park you plan to visit that day.

-Dont rush things
-You probably still won't see it all
-PLAN
-Use those fp's!(involved with the planning)
-Get park hoppers

-Head to UT or Easywdw to check out their crowd calendars, compare them with the EMH schedule (sometimes a park is red because of emh, sometimes its another reason) and plan out which parks which days accordingly
-Choose to utilize EMH or not, I personally would, especially if you want to see as much as possible, but make sure you have those park hoppers ready!
-Decide if your arrival & departure days have enough time to merit a park visit on those days. Ie, if you get in any early than say, 6pm, and MK's open later then say, midnight, then hit it up, get in some Disney magic and use those emh nights!
-With that DDP, make reservations for the park you plan on being in (or that's close by, the monorail resorts when you're at MK) so you're not wasting time travelling to & from ADRs
-Get to the park 30mins prior to opening
-If you do choose to use EMH hours in the morning, the park could end up getting super crowded around noon, be prepared to hop elsewhere (again, check the crowd calanders for this), and hop to a green park to finish out your day
-PLAN your days, know where you're going right after the rope drops the night before, try to have the first 2-4 attractions of the day planned out and try to minimize criss crossing around the park as much as you can

Thanks everyone!! Such great advice.. I know that we most probably not get to see a few things.. That's fine.. I just want the ones who haven't been to get the MOST out of it, just in case it takes them a few years to make it back!

Use the hoppers to your advantage. MK will probably be open late each night Thanksgiving week. Spend some days at the other parks and hop over there at night 2-3 times. After the fireworks is a great time to tour MK.

Love all the suggestions so far.

Emphasize the large amount of walking and standing you'll do! Encourage people to do some walking ahead of time if they're not used to it.

It seems contradictory, by the rests are key - otherwise you may "power through" and trudge your tired self through a checklist of attractions, but not have the energy to really be enjoying them!

Have a chat ahead of time about how MUCH there is and find out whether the group is interested in a WDW Adventure (what I call it when we go-go-go and have a ton of fun but come home exhausted) or a Vacation (what most people think of when going at a slower pace and coming home refreshed)

Definitely agree with getting there at Rope drop at least a couple days and staying til close at least a couple days coupled with judicious use of FPs.
