We are going to WDW Jan 26th thru Feb 2 with family, and they put me in charge of locating the rental home.
We are looking for a 5 or 6 bed home (with at least 4 baths) with private pool. I have looked at several sites, and decided that I would turn to you all for help!
Thanks!

Here is the one we are staying in next month. Copy and paste the addresss. The owner has been really great and the price was less then quoted on the site. My DD loves the mickey kiddie pool. I looked at it on google earth and the lot is HUGE and is in a cul de sac. Its only a couple of miles from WDW. I searched for 100's of hours for a home contacted many homeowners and this was the best one for us. Good luck.

I highly recommend any of the homes in my sig -- the most recent 3 are 6 bed homes.

there are so many terrific homes out there. It won't be hard to find a great one for your needs.

Mainbound,

I am looking at the Gigha villa. Can you give me any details on your stay? The good and bad, any suprises. Also can you comment on how comfortable the mattresses are? Where the owners good to deal with?

Thanks!

MickeyMickey, we are booked at Jura, the house next door owned by the same owner. Our stay is for November this year. the owner has been fantastic so far. Very helpful and friendly. He has even phoned me from Scotland a few times to answer some of my questions and I am in Australia.

I can tell you the owners are terrific to deal with: very responsive to any questions we had. We also had to stay a few extra unplanned days due to my son's ear infection and they were very accommodating and understanding about the arrangements and the price.

We had a chance to meet the management company in person and also deal with them on the phone and they are a very helpful and competent husband and wife team.

We like the location of the house as it was just a few houses up from the castle playground and walking distance to the clubhouse.

We did not have to stop at the management co. to get the house key which is a big plus.

We had no surprises with our stay. I have a complete review on the Reviews board. There were a couple of small little things, but there always are, whether we are in a Disney hotel or offsite.

The mattresses were good enough that I can't remember anyone having a problem at all with them, but not so good as to be memorable.

We just recommended the home to some very good friends in our neighborhood here in Bangor and they are now booked for April. I can tell you I would never send a friend to a place I didn't think was first rate.

Sent you a PM with the home we rent. We love it! Hope it helps. :goodvibes

All depends what you want.... we have rented from owners and we have rented from management companies. There's pluses and minuses to both.

You can check management companies out easier than owners but owners do tend to know more about their home!

A lot depends on what you need in a home and where you want to be located IMO

I rented through a management company, as it made me nervous being a first time home renter to rent through an owner (I feel more comfortable now that I hear all the good stories, but I was a new to all this a year ago)
I rented through www.villadirect.com They were extreemly helpful answering a ton of questions.
The hardest part was narrowing down what beautiful home I wanted to spend ten days in. We ended up with "Mickey's Paradise" - a five bedroom in Windsor Hills.
The only downside with villa direct is they have a ton of homes, some that are located further to WDW then others. So you need to do some research on where the community is located. There is a great map of the rental home areas. Sorry I don't have the addresss. but I am sure someone will post it.

Five bedroom in Windsor Hills romancingthemouse.com

We stayed at the 4 bedroom that they own. It's next door to the 5 bedroom. Both are very nice and overlook the lake/water instead of another house so it's private.

They brought us muffins and juice at check in, chocolate strawberries at check out.....they go wayyy above and beyond and treat you like a family guest and not a "renter". I could go on and on. It was perfect.

:)

To make it easier it is probably worth thinking about what you want - that way you can narrow it down a lot. For example - Do you have any preference about how close to Disney? Do you have any specific needs, for example pool not overlooked. Do you have a budget? Do you want resort facilities, gated community...
