Have stayed at Vero Beach, Kidani, and Beach Club but never Wilderness Lodge Villas....

What is a great 2 BR to request? Light Sleeper, so noisy location with bus traffic, etc doesn't work.............

Thanks for any info in advance! Hopefully, we'll enjoy Wilderness Lodge as much as BCV, Kidani, and Vero!:thumbsup2

Anywhere at VWL is quiet. It's a small resort and everywhere is surrounded by trees.

Agree with D & B. . .pretty much all the rooms have a woods view, and having stayed on both sides of the Villas building (one side faces the lake though you don't get any real views of it except perhaps a glimpse through the trees, while the other side more or less faces an access road and the bus stop, though again pretty much all you see are trees), I can attest that quiet is largely what you get at VWL. That's why I made it my home--it's serene, lovely, verdant, and easily navigated. Obviously, there is no way of determining how loud people will be in nearby rooms, but I've never had any noise issues at VWL in seven years of trips. Enjoy the Villas!

The only real noise issues come from the hallways as excited children race to/from their rooms at definitely audible volumes. Though the duration is fairly short, it can be loud enough to disturb light sleepers. Requesting a room at the end of a corridor will insulate you from most of this.

Good luck!

In terms of running kids, I don't think higher floors are particularly better. Whereas being at the end of a hallway as suggested by jarestel would alleviate that potential issue, the downside is you might wind up with a view of the dumpster/worker access area. Truly, such a view isn't that bad (I've had it before), but it wouldn't be my preference. I've had good success with requesting a pool view, third floor or higher. You don't actually hear any pool noise since the rooms don't sit right on the pool, and the chances of you getting a view (albeit a tiny one) of the lake improve. Plus, it puts you near the beginning of the hallway so excited kids of all ages would pass you by quickly. ;)

We stayed in a 2 bedroom on the 5th. floor the second from last room. It was very quiet. We faced the lake.

We stayed in a 1 br, 2nd floor, near the elevators, over the covered walk to the hotel and looked directly out at the bus stop (through the trees of course). The room was extremely quiet and relaxing. We only heard the buses when we opened the balcony door.

We just returned from our first stay at VWL in a 1 BR villa. I completely forgot to make a room request and we ended up on the top floor in a corner room that overlooked the pool and had a nice glimpse of the lake. I just loved it. I also liked that the 5th floor is not open to the atrium like all the other floors. We were only a few doors away from the elevators and never heard a sound. When I do make room requests, I prefer the top floor - no noise from above at least.

Lakeside, high floor....This will supposedly eliminate the few horrid dumpster views....

Quirty30....5519 has a gorgeous view! Think 5519 and 5521 look like a 2 BR lockoff!!! Might try for that!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

You must have seen my picture - and you are correct. 5521 is the studio lock off that connects to 5519.
