Besides Windsor Hills

What other community would you recommend? we have always stayed in WH and have tried Champions Gate and felt it was to far away from everything. We are looking at 8 nights in December and the quotes I am getting from WH owners are pretty insane for a home. We are staying 7 nights on property at a premier hotel at Universal (with express passes) for almost 2K less than what I am being quoted for a home in WH for 8 nights. We are looking to possibly try out another community and will mostly be doing Discovery Cove/Water Park and maybe Disney depending.

We are looking for a single family home with it's own heated pool and spa.

We stayed at Emerald Island several years ago. It's a bit further away than Windsor Hills (maybe a mile or two) but still a close drive. Again, it was several years ago since we were there so we don't have recent experience there.

I am looking for recommendations from people who have actually stayed in other resorts and how they liked it. That thread just has a list of other communities.

I have stayed at both Emerald Island and Windsor Hills. EI was fine, but I much preferred WH. The amenities are better and it's closer to Disney. I also didn't care for how close together the houses are in EI -- it felt a bit crowded and claustrophobic to me.
