Anyone ever cruised to Bermuda? If you have was it especially rough and rocky? I've read some things online that have scared me...I'm very much a chicken when it comes to rough seas! For the 5 night Bermuda on DCL its docked for two days...I read somewhere that they have to sail away from the dock a bit and drop anchor at night during the two days it's supposed to be in Bermuda...does anyone know if this is true or if the ship will just stay at the dock the entire two days?

If you've been to Bermuda what did you think of it?

I have cruised to Bermuda on NCL and Celebrity. I loved it, especially having multiple days there. We never had to move from the dock at night. It was very smooth sailing from Bayonne (NJ) both times.

We LOVE Bermuda! It's a beautiful, clean, British little island. We have been there on land vacations, as well as cruised there three times. Although it can happen anywhere on any cruise, we have never had rough seas. Keep in mind that just about all cruises to Bermuda happen during hurricane season. You will be docked during your whole time in Bermuda. Beaches are beautiful and the two cities of Hamilton and St Georges are fun to explore--there is a lot of history to learn much of it intertwined with the US. Public transportation by bus and ferry are easy and inexpensive. You will have a great time!

We have cruised to Bermuda during hurricane season before. A tropical storm had come up the East Coast that w ie had to sail through that made it very rough on the way to Bermuda. The way home was fine. It is just a risk during hurricane season.

Sailed from NYC to Bermuda in the month of May a few years ago on NCL.....not very rough on the way.....we stayed docked (did not have to leave and come back). On the way home we hit a storm or two so the seas were rougher but nothing bad.

Outside of very specific spots in the world (I.e. the Magellan strait), sea conditions are entirely based on the current weather. There are no “rough spots” or “calm spots”. If you sail the Atlantic when high winds are blowing, you’ll have waves and rocking. The same spot might be calm for the next few weeks after that. Of course, sailing in hurricane season raises the probability of rough seas.

We cruised to Bermuda in May and June. Never had any weather issues. Stayed docked for 3 days, did not have to move. Bermuda is a beautiful island. IMO the beaches are much more beautiful than in the Caribbean!
