Berkshires Hotel Advice?

Hi there!

I want to surprise my fiance with a weekend in the Bershires to check out the foliage. Which hotels offer the best foliage views from their hotel windows?

We don't care which town-we love all of the Bershires. We usually just do day trips, but I want to do an overnight this time.

I'm not sure about the views...but we stayed at the Red Lion Inn and it was quite charming.

I want a place where we can wake up and just be surrounded by foliage!.... and possibly breakfast in bed as well!

When are you planning on going? This time of year is very busy in a lot of areas, and based on the foliage I saw near Mt. Snow Vermont (not too far from the Berkshires), the foliage is running a little early this year...I told some friends of mine that if they are going to Mt. Snow, don't wait until Columbus Day weekend, or they might only see sticks and leaves on the ground.

I would recommend THIS weekend.

I'm thinking either this weekend or next weekend. We live in Western MA so it's only about a 40 minute drive for us. Just thought it would be fun to stay overnight somewhere, instead of just our usual day trip!
