Bennigans/Steak & Ale

I realize this is actually national news (and shocking at that, at least to me), but the Bennigans and Steak & Ale at the corner of I-Drive and Westwood Blvd have shut down.

UPDATE: Apparently the Bennigans on 535 and 192 (which I cannot remember for the life of me) are franchises and remaining open, at least for the time being. Not sure how long they can last without corporate support, but that's the word from the Sentinel.

That is such a shame. They always seemed pretty busy as well. We have stayed at the International Plaza Resort and Spa a few times and these restaurants were extremely handy if we did not want to go far for dinner.

going to miss that Steak and ale i loved the Salad bar there would get it as a meal along with an appetizer instead of anything else!!

I just got a gift card to steak and ale to use next week Is there another steak and ale close to disney? Also, are there other bennigans open?

Yes the one on 192 and also on 535 (Begnnigans) are both close to WDW and definitely open as I called them today and ate at the 192 location. You should be able to use Steak and Ale cards at those.

According to this, you are out of luck as all Steak & Ale's were corporate owned and now closed

Some Bennigan's are franchised and can remain open, but won't necessarily remain as they used to be.

I had forgotten about that one, honestly. Given that it was not mentioned with the two that remain open, I would tend to doubt it.

So there's none within walking distance from I Drive now,that's a shame as we always stay on I-Drive but we don't drive.x.

Ironically the Steak and Ale on I-Drive had a fire the night of its closing!
