A coworker of mine is a part time Disney TA. We are planning a trip the week of Thanksgiving 2016. What would the benefits of going through her be? Anyone have experience using a Disney TA?

We always get a 100.00 Disney gift card per room.

I've never used one, but a friend recently did.

She ended up paying the same prices that I would have. So she didn't save any money.

In addition to that, the TA casually said that she needed to schedule fast passes before they left. But never gave them any information about how to do it, when to do it or what happened if they didn't do it. She also never told them about My Disney Experience. My friend had a login and password, but didn't know what to do with it.

Same with ADR's. They had a character breakfast scheduled and the TA just couldn't remember which characters would be there.

I spent a couple of hours on line, scheduled fast passes, printed out some stuff about the resort, the character breakfast and gave them ideas about touring.

If you use a TA, stay on top of the process.

I used Dreams Unlimited to book my Disney trip- they took care of all dining reservations for me and one day I woke up to a nice email saying that Disney released a new promotion and not only was my room now upgraded I was saving a bunch of money too! Loved it! Same thing happened when I used them to book a Disney cruise, all of a sudden my bill was 800 lower because they got me in on a promotion they released plus a shipboard credit to boot!

There are some not so good TAs and some that are great. It sounds like the PP's friend didn't get a good one. That is sad and makes it harder on the ones that are great at what they do.

What should happen when you use a good TA is that you should never pay more with them but you could pay less. They do as much or as little as you want them to do. If you like making your Fast Passes or your dining reservations, that's not a problem. If you don't want to do that yourself, they should be glad to do that for you. They should also give you tips on how to make your vacation amazing that are specific to your family. You may even get a gift from the TA for booking your trip with them but that is TA specific. Also, if you do use a TA, you are helping someone provide for their family and most are grateful for that.

Agreed! I use an agent and she always offers to do all of my FP+ & ADR's, but I personally enjoy doing that so do it myself. The times I am SO glad that I have a TA are when my daughter's FP+'s fall off completely over our 9 day trip! A quick note to my wonderful TA and SHE is on the phone with Disney having them rectify it. I always recommend having a TA as they have so much to offer and it costs you NOTHING. But definitely, be sure you get a good agent!

The main problem is, with a TA, there is no way to tell if you have a good one.

My friend was sure this TA was a good one. Other people had used her and loved her. Of course they didn't know what they were missing. And neither did my friend until she spoke with me.

Use a Dreams Unlimited Agent and you can be sure you are getting a "good" TA :)
