Benefits of DLH concierge??

There is a whole entire thread about Concierge/Club benefits with pictures for each of the 3 on-site properties. Do a search!

The benefits:
Breakfast as soon as we get up and are ready for it. No figuring out what to grab on the way to the parks.
Coffee etc you can take back to your room while you're getting ready.
You can pick up fruit, snacks and drinks and fix bagel, cheese, and meat sandwiches for lunch and take them into the parks.
You can also come back to the hotel for a rest and enjoy the snacks and drinks in the lounge. They have delicious homemade potato chips.
They have hot appetizers and desserts in the evening. You can enjoy as much beer or wine as you want.
They have a cool coffee machine that makes all kinds of espressos, cappucinos, etc.
They have always catered to my kids, fixing them special things and just being super friendly to them.
They can make reservations for you and correct problems.

My family can make the concierge lounge work for most of our meals, though we also have favorites in the parks so we don't do the lounge exclusively. We like to rest at the hotel and we don't stay in the parks all night, so that works well with the lounge, also. You can watch the fireworks with piped in music, but I've never done that. And you can make mimosas! That's pretty cool.

All that said, you have to figure that for most people, concierge is a luxury and not a cost savings. You do it because it's convenient and kind of fun. My family actually comes out pretty close on cost since there are 5 of us and the extra cost for concierge isn't a waste with the way we use it. For 2 people, it wouldn't be harder to justify, I think.

OP, I understood your question perfectly, by the way. Those threads about concierge comparisons are not necessarily up to date, and there is NOTHING wrong with asking for people's opinions. Search is ok, but it is often difficult to wade through and find current and pertinent info.

I have always called it concierge and that's what they always call it when I book it or go there.

So, is the concerge/club lounge much better at DLH than the one at PPH. I was very disappointed at PPH. I think I was expecting something nicer. If DLH is better, I might look into upgrading for our September trip.

I haven't been to the lounge at PPH so I don't know. The DLH lounge is kind of a split level (well, one step up level for the food area and one step down for the tables and seating). I thought the offerings were fairly basic and wasn't wowed by that, but the view is wonderful :) I've heard that the hours at PPH lounge aren't as good--opens later and closes earlier, which is a definite minus when you're leaving early to go to the parks and coming back late. I personally like the GCH lounge best, but mostly because they have more things to eat and more things that I like! It's also bigger. But my family was very happy with DLH lounge, especially since it was right next door to our room.

I think you have to make it work. They often open pretty tight to EMH if not at EMH, so that's a downer. I'll tell you my thoughts on it in October after my week of Concierge level and see if I'll change my stance on it.
