What are the benefits of arriving early to port? We will be at WDW and would like to use DCL transportation as it is our first cruise and it seems easy but we are also concierge and would be able to arrive earlier if we took a limo.

One "benefit" is you will be in the middle of a huge group of people. The port opens at 10:30, but boarding doesn't begin until around 11:30 (sometimes later). DCL transfers typically begin arriving around 12:30 (when there is hardly any line or wait to board). As concierge, you may board as soon as you check in (as long as boarding has begun).

As Concierge you would have the first boarding group (after Family of the Day) and a small area set aside from the crowd to wait until boarding. So you would be among the first on the ship. You would be escorted up to the Concierge lounge where you would meet with the concierge team and most likely be able to leave or store your carryon bags until your cabin is ready. This might come in handy for you if you have a lot of carryon bags. :)

Thanks! Would we not be escorted if we came later?

Yes, you would still be escorted. I have seen folks with escorts even later in the day.
There is an elevator that they use for boarding and debarkation day for guests in concierge. It gets them to their deck and bypasses the other ones. :)

may be a little OT, but have you contacted a limo company yet to do this? we are looking into taking one also but from boyton beach as we will be staying with the grandparents for a couple of days before the cruise- so far we have a quote of 190$ for a suv that seats the 5 if us... just curious if you have other info on that

Talk about first world problems!

Any vacation board is. If that bothered me I wouldn't come here.

OP, the fact that we could have been onboard, getting value from what we paid (though our upgrade to concierge was about $300 back in Feb 2013, not much at all, relatively), but instead we were on a bus leaving POR after noon just bugged us. Er, me. My extended family drove in from their home and they were onboard nearly 2 hours before we even got there. Ugh. Felt like we were playing catch up the rest of the SHORT cruise.

We haven't taken the DCL bus in (from the resort) since. We've taken the bus from the airport and we've driven in. DH works hard for our money, I work to save it, and getting value is something that I find to be very important. So I want to be on that ship for as long as I'm allowed to be. And the bus from the resorts doesn't give me that.

Thank you! I think we will probably feel the same...
