I am planning a trip to Universal in August. I am wondering what the benefits of reserving through the Universal site are compared to Loews and Undercover tourist. We definitely want to take advanatge of getting into IOA an hour early and the line passes. If I book through the Loews website can I still get those benefits? The Universal promotion includes breakfast at Broomsticks but, that is not a huge deal for us. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Booking through Loews lets your make changes and cancellations within 5 days of arrival without any penalties. You also get credits for youfirst. You also just give one night's deposit and pay the rest upon checkout

There is no advantage to booking through the website. If anything, there are disadvantages....have to pay completely in advance, no youfirst credits, penalties for changes and cancellations. Usually it is cheaper to buy without a package going through Loews and undercovertourist.com

No matter where you book, you will still get unlimited express access and early park admission.

This is what I do and I usually come out with some savings. The flexibility to be able to change your dates is an advantage as well.

This is what I did for the cheapest option. I booked the Royal Pacific directly through Loews all by itself and it came out cheaper (not by much though LOL). I booked the flight, car and park tickets through cheaptickets.com which offered the best price for the package.

I booked a room at Hard Rock through the Universal site. Is there a better place to book? When I linked from the Hard Rock hotel site it seemed to take me to the same site as booking through Universal. I am trying to use the Loewsfirst site. I might switch over to PBH because I may need an extra room and the second room at Hard Rock is too pricey right now. But through the Loewsfirst website I am still seeing that I will be charged 1 night as a deposit and it is also requiring a 5 day cancellation policy. Did I read something wrong? Where am I able to make a reservation w/out paying a deposit upgront?

If you are just booking your hotel, it is fine. The OP is talking about booking a package.

You can't make a reservation anywhere without paying a deposit. When you purchase a package, you pay and deposit and you also pay the balance before you check in.
