Bend It Like Beckham - Great movie!

I was surprised by how good and funny it is. So much better than Greek Wedding. It's a very positive movie, for girls especially. I wish there are more movies like this made when I was growing up.

Go see it if it's shown in your area.

I am about to have a fit to see this movie!! I am a huge soccer fan, and have been waiting and waiting.... It hasn't come here, and I am either going to have to take a road trip or wait for the DVD!

adamak - I think it is PG13 - is it appropriate for a 7 yr old (almost 8) DD plays soccer, is fairly mature and I think she'd enjoy it (plus I want to see it too). She hasn't seen a lot of "older" movies, but has seen Greek Wedding.

i so wanted to see this film but.....
this film will only play for two days in our town... and that was saturday and sunday (that just past)
i'll have to wait for it to come out on DVD....

My DH and his mother went and saw this today and DH said he really liked it. He said he'd go see it again with me.

I was surprised it's rated PG13. There is no nudity, no foul languages, no violence. There is A kiss scene, which is nothing compared to Britney and MTV's alike. I actually think it's more innocent than Greek Wedding.

I think it's fine with young kids. Maybe it's PG13 because the girl was sneaking out to play scoccer behind parents' back. But if you explain to your kid ahead of time, I'm sure they'll not take it the wrong way.

It's really inspiring, at least to me. I have lots of India friends, and I'm from a different culture. It's nice to know that I'm not the only 'nuts' trying to break out.

Not to mention, Beckham is just heavenly.
