I just have to say that I loved this segment. It was just awesome !!!

I was just about to post exactly the same, well done Ben.

Cant wait for the "ask the ginger" segment LOL

:thumbsup2 Yep, I agree. I thought he sounded like a really smart, well rounded teenager. However, it was a nice education on how someone with Aspergers (not sure if I spelled that right) and to know that in a lot of ways they are not any different than people like me who can't stand some things like how something feels (can't stand the feel of raw wood, so even though I love the taste of mickey bars, I hate to eat them because of that darn stick :lmao:) or over stimulation (need my piece and quite everyday!), etc. He just has a more extreme response than wha the average person experiences.

Also, Ben's Mom was fabulous. :littleangel: Loved her attitude that having her son was a blessing. Also loved her view on always striving for growth. Isn't that how all parents should feel? It is just sad that it isn't always the feeling.

Great job, Ben! I loved your segment! I added it to my son's ipod this afternoon. He said he totally agrees with the spinning tea cups! He is loves to ride the rides alone too.

Thanks for sharing your experience! :thumbsup2

As a mom with two young children with autism it was so great to hear this segment. I cried during most of it and for the first time I'm able to understand why one of my daughters is terrified of 3d, she has not been able to communicate why it bothered her. Hearig Ben and all he has overcome has given me hope. I can't thank him and his mom enough for doing this

I found the segment fascinating. Even though I don't have Asperger's, I could relate to some of the notes he brought up. Especially the social situations and getting along better with adults.
I can't wait to hear Ben on future shows. :goodvibes

Amazing job Ben! :cool1:

You helped out many people by giving us an honest, helpful glimpse into the fears and struggles of kids with autism. You did an outstanding job of communicating how you dealt with these situations.

Hope to hear more from you on future podcasts.

It was a wonderful segment. I learned a lot! I am hoping that Ben will do another segment in the future. :goodvibes

Wonderful job Ben! It was a very helpful segment. Looking forward to hearing him again on the podcast.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. Ben is over the moon and as you can imagine we are very proud of him! We returned home last night and listened to the show as a family. We tell my husband all the time how much we appreciate him, but it was nice to have him hear it in this format.

When Ben wanted to do this show, I was nervous for him. This was such an amazing process for both of us. In preparing for the show I learned some things that I didn't even know. His explanation of 3D and how it affects him was so enlightening.

I really feel like we came full circle this past week, just the 2 of us, staying at Pop, riding the teacups!

I remember what it was like when he was younger and how helpful it would have been for me to hear from a 15 year old further in the journey! Our hope is that others can experience Disney and the amazing difference it made in our lives!

He is already thinking of how he can do another show about cruising with Aspergers!!

Hi Tracey, Loved the segment, Tell Ben Well Done!!! :) If he ever wants someone to talk to as a freind , Im more then willing :)

Thank you SO much Ben!

As a newly licensed intervention specialist, you have given me an even more inside look as to what my "future" students with an Autism Spectrum diagnosis maybe going through. During one of my past teaching experience I actually had a family with a child diagnosed on the spectrum, and they were taking their child to Walt Disney World for the first time. They knew how much of a Disney fan I was and asked if I had any tips for them. At the time I was only able to point them into the direction of the Guest Assistance Card, but now if I'm ever asked again I can point them into the direction of your podcast!

Again! Way to go BEN!:banana::cool1:

What an amazing story to share and educational experience for us all to learn from. Great job Ben and Tracey! Thanks for helping us all learn a little bit today.

I have to say that I LOVED this segment. I was listening at work and I realised that I was intently listening and not working. I don't have kids and as far as I know, I don't know anyone with autism, and Ben did a great job teaching me. Great job Ben.

Thank you so much

Best podcast ever! Thank you Ben. My autistic son and Disney park lover thanks you as well.

I heard Ben say he watches the 3D films without the glasses. I would recommend these

http://www.thinkgeek.com/interests/looflirpa/e8be/

They make 3d movies 2d. But makes them as clear as a normal movie would be. It's only $15 dollars and I'm sure us dissers would even buy them for him. I just don't like the idea of him having to watch blurry movies just to experience it with everyone else. This would be a real solution.

What do you I can do to make sure Ben or his family sees this?
