Hi everyone-
I know the BIP is not located in SWF yet, but I was curious as to if anyone has done this in San Diego and what the review was on it?
Thanks!!

They do have the Beluga Interaction in Florida, my DD did it back in 2008, and she loved the whole experience

I also did the beluga exerience at SWF, it was awesome! I loved each and every minute and can't wait to do it again! Well worth every penny!:yay:

Right now it is not available because they are refurbing the Beluga area of wild Arctic. I do not know when it reopens. I missed seeing the Belugas on Saturday:sad1::sad1:

A Friend of mine who works in SWF Says they are expanding thins and also working on some new behaviors with the Belugas Maple, Aurek AND Klondike they will re open the BIP March 1st 2010

Do you know if the participants will be able to go in the water? From older pictures, it looks as if they did. We're considering this for two of our children and I spoke with someone from SW today. She said that the participants will just be sitting on the side with their legs in the water, that they won't actually be standing in it.

No you do not go in the water, just sit on the edge. they would not come up like dolphins, as they are not an inquisitive animal, they would be more likely to stay away or hide, and the pool is very deep.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure we're going to go ahead and get the tickets for our two oldest kids. It sounds like it will be a wonderful experience for them.

My DD loved the whole experience , and would not hesitate doing it again

I never really thought about dolphins being more inquisitive than other sea creatures but I guess that's true. We did a dolphin swim in Grand Cayman and lucked into being with a mom dolphin and baby. Mom did the interaction but the baby was close by. My husband and I were at the end of the row, and when we were doing something that involved slapping the water he kept flitting over to us. He was sooooo cute! The trainer said that was good as they want him to get used to people, and he definitely seemed to enjoy teasing us. I've never interacted with belugas so I have no comparison, but it's on the list for SeaWorld.
