We are going to be at the POP in about 2 weeks. We would like to find out that if we leave our luggage with the bellhop/front desk, will they take your belongings to your room while you hit the park ? Any information will be helpfull. Thanks.

I don't think so. I say this because last month when we checked into SSR our room wasn't ready. We weren't concerned with our luggage since we used ME. But we did check DHs's laptop with bell services and had to call when we got into the room to have it delivered. Luggage was there, but not the laptop.

I could be wrong as rules may differ from resort to resort. But if I am someone will reply with the correct information. ;)

only DME directly delivers to the room. for bell services, you can call from the room and have it delivered. however, at the values, there is no bell services, it's luggage assistance and they will not deliver it to your room, even on your request.

Thanks everybody. It looks like we must make time to unload the car and toll our stuff to our room then. Let's hope our room location is not that far off from the parking lot. We are not afraid to leave our luggage in our car, but we will 2 laptops to worry about. Can the front safekeeps them so that we could go to the park before our room is ready later in the day? Any fee to this service?

YES ::yes:: The Pop Century has Luggage Assistance not Bell Services.

Upon arrival, Pop Century will offer Luggage Assistance for our guests. Not to be confused with "Bell Services" found at Deluxe resorts, Luggage Assistance will take your luggage, and store it while you enter the lobby and check in. Your luggage will then be automatically delivered to your room within an hour of it becoming available. You do not need to be in the room for luggage to be delivered, so you can go off and play in the parks. When you get back, your luggage will already be there. They will have refrigerators for food and medical usage. (All food *MUST* be factory sealed) They will also have a locked area for valuables such as laptops, cameras, and other electronics.

When checking out, they can come and pick up your luggage, and store it until you are ready to depart. We do ask that you give us a call the night before, to arrange a pick up time. If you call day of, we may not have any availability left. We require a minimum of one hours notice. Those of you who opt for Express Checkout will receive a voice mail reminding you of this option, as well as other Express Checkout info. By the way, the voice of Express Checkout is the same voice that does the Monorail Spiel.

You do not need to be in your room for drop off or pick up.

Should you wish to handle your own luggage, they offer the use of our hand carts. (Not the "bird cages," but push carts) Usage of the carts is free, however, they will require a credit card on file, should you decide to take one home as a souvenir. They also do ask that guests limit cart usage to 30 minutes, so that other guests may use them as well.

Hope this information helps Ya

You bet you did. Thank you so much. Now that I know that the CM delivers them, do you there's any need to tip the guys just like "valet parking"?

I just pull in the front at guest arrival and they unload the luggage, take my name, give me the tickets on the luggage. (This is when I give the Cast Member a tip) I then park my car in the guest check-in parking lot and go inside to check-in.

If the room is ready we may move the car to the assigned parking area then visit the room or just head for the Parks. If I'm in the room when they deliver the luggage I will give them a small tip but if I'm not I think giving them a few dollars to unload the car should cover it.

I have tried all three options while staying at Pop:

Unloaded everything myself and almost passed out. Many back and forth trips to the car. (the cooler almost killed me)

Signed out the hand cart the next time, the cart was better but also very heavy on its own, once loaded it was hard to manoeuver.

Pulled up let them unload and deliver everything just as we arrived to our room.

The last option is by far the best. :thumbsup2

It is customary to tip people who handle your luggage. $1 or $2 per bag seems to be about the norm.

Not tipping a bell person who took your bags to/from your room/car would be akin to not tipping a waiter/waitress.

We will sure be tipping them. How about the laptops locked in their safe-box? how late can we pick them up?
