Bell Services?

When we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside in the winter, we noticed that Bell Services delivers luggage to your room for you. Frankly, this would be a lot easier than carrying everything in ourselves. Is there any cost for this service? Are there any limits to how much luggage you can have? If we check in, drop out luggage off and head straight to the park, will they deliver it to the room for us while we are gone?

There is no charge for bell services, you can take as much luggage as you like. Many people tip their bellman, but this is totally up to you - if you would like to tip, the "norm" is $1-$2 per bag. I believe you have to be in your room for them to deliver your luggage, but you can drop it off, head to the parks, and when you return, call for your luggage! Easy as that!

Bell Services is a tipped position, so you do need to be in the room for them to bring up the luggage. When judging how much to give, keep in mind that some buildings don't have an elevator, and the bellman has to haul the luggage up the stairs.

Luggage Assistance (found ONLY at Value Resorts) is not a tipped position, so a tip is neither expected or neccessary. Because of this, only Luggage Assistance can deliver to a room without the guests having to be there.

Since we generally don't have the same bell person that takes our luggage from our vehicle to store and then to our room when we call we have been tipping both $1-2 per bag. Is this the norm or do you only tip the person that brings it to your room?

We always tip the person who takes our bags from the car and the person who brings the bags to our room.

I was not suggesting for the OP not to tip the bellman, simply stating it is not a requirement, just as it is not a requirement to tip your wait-person.
