Bell Services Questions

I have two split trips planned for the upcoming year. We have used bell services before but we have always dropped our bags off and then picked them up at the desk. I have read in other posts that BS will pick your bags up at your room and take them to your new hotel. My questions are: do you need to be in the room for them to pick the bags up or can you call and schedule pick up? How much should you tip? Do you tip the person who picks the bags up? Thanks

Yes, you need to be in the room for bags to be picked up and also be in the new room before bags will be delivered.

That would make sense. How long does it typically take them to get to your room?

I was just wondering about this also - sounds like a great option for us in October (our first split stay).

Bell Services requires that you be in the room so that they don't miss a tip opportunity. Luggage is transfered around 3:00 and delivered to your new resort between 4:00 and 5:00.

The amount that you tip is up to you.

Yes, like Diane said, you have to be in your room when they pick them up, as they will tag them and give you a receipt. Plus you have to be in your room when they deliver them -- so that they can be tipped. You should be tipping on both ends as they are different on each side. I tip $2 a bag each way, so it can get expensive. We had a large party that moved from OKW to BCV. We had 10 bags and tipped $20 to the person picking up and $20 to the person delivering. Unlike a normal bag service, the person is picking them up, and handling them several times. Putting them on the cart, taking them to bell service, unloading them (maybe), then loading them into the van later. On the other side, someone is unloading them off the van and into the next bell service. Then when you call after getting into your new room, they will load them and drop them off. So you can see there is alot of handling.

Even so, that price is well worth it if you don't have a rental car. We usually have a rental car, so we handle the bags ourselves to avoid having to be in the room for delivery.

I agree! We actually had TWO rental cars that trip, but moving all of that luggage was not something we wanted to do, so we paid for the luxury of having someone do it for us. Normally if it's just the 2 of us, we throw that luggage in the car.

We never rent a car when we visit WDW, so the cost in tips alone is well worth it to us. :worship: This way, we won't have to take time out of our day moving everything to another resort in a taxi waaaay before our new check-in time, then having to collect it all from Bell Services later. :goodvibes
