Bell Services Options - BWV

3 weeks from today I will be arriving at BWV!

In an effort to save some money, we are using ME for the first time ever during this trip and not using Tiffany Town Car. I know our luggage will be delivered to the room, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Because of our arrival time and short trip time (4.5 days compared to our normal 7-8 ) we will be dropping our carryons with bell services and heading straight to DHS. We have never done this before and we have always checked into our room first. But, unfortunately we will be arriving at like 11:00 AM and our room will most likely not be ready.

However, we are going to have some portable electronics (2 IPod touches, kindle fire, laptop, etc.) in our carryons and I am really nervous about leaving everything with bell services. I know Disney is a good company and I trust that their staff is honest, but all you need is one bad apple.......and I have heard numerous stories over the years about things getting "lost".

None of these items will be in ME's (Mears) hands. Only the resort's. We are going to keep our electronics with us during our flight and travel from the airport to BWV.

Do I have any other option besides leaving everything with bell services and waiting in the hotel lobby for our room to be ready? Any ideas?

Call me paranoid, but as much as I love and trust Disney, that's a lot of money to lose.......

I don't think you are being paraoid at all!

At 11am there is a chance your room will be ready and you won't have to worry about this. In my experience I've only had to wait for my room once and have had my room ready even at 10am on some occassions! The less requests you have can help this I believe.

If it were me, I would have a small bag that would fit all the electronics and keep it with me. Then again some would say I am a worry wart because I only take carryons on the plane cause I don't trust the airlines with my bags. I take my bags on DME and don't let DME take them to my room cause I don't trust them either! lol Also I never leave anything electronic or valuable with bell services. Having had them all loose my bags on different occasions in the past, I've learned my lesson.

I think your only other option is to bring along a small backpack and keep the precious items with you when you go to the park.

Bell services asked us if we had a laptop in our bags and then told us it would be in a locked area. I never really worried about it before, but am glad they took the extra step. Now I tell them which bags to lock up. You will get a receipt for each piece you leave with them. In over 40 trips I have had only one problem with our bags and that was transferring from ASSp to WL. The AS 'runner' never showed up that day and WL had to send someone to get our bags. More a pain in the butt than a real problem. And since ME started I have never had a problem. BUT if you are worried then the only way to ease your mind would be to take it all with you and maybe lock it in a locker. Have a great trip. We stayed at BWV in Nov for 11 days.

I am going to ask about this when we arrive. If it is in a locked area, I would feel better about leaving it with bell services. All the things we would want locked up can easily fit into a carryon bag. I was not aware that was an option.

I wouldn't worry about bell services. We had 2 laptops and an iPad 2 in DH's backpack and we left it with bell services and nothing was stolen. I think they locked it up actually. I understand your unease, but personally I wouldn't worry about it. Enjoy your trip! We just got back from BWVs and we loved it!
