Has anyone done this role?
I'm interested in adding it to my list when I apply next year. I was wondering what specifically it entailed.

As a CP you can not have a tipped postion, I was a lifeguard. I did get to pick up shifts in valet a few times because they needed the help, It all depends on you location though. It might have changed though.

Actually- I cross-trained as Bell Services when I did my program back in 2006. I worked at Disney's Old Key West and Saratoga Springs. Basically, I took guests' information and their luggage and passed it off to the bellmen. There were always plenty of bellmen around to lift the super heavy bags. Then, when people came back to pick up their luggage, I verified their tickets and got their luggage.

I was never trained as Dispatch, but those cast members were in charge of working the phones and the walkie-talkies. I don't know too much about their roles beyond that.

I enjoyed that role because it was a welcome break from working in a full-service restaurant, and I loved the other cast members I worked with. Sorry this isn't terribly helpful!

Thank you so much! Don't be sorry - it's the most helpful yet! Also, I like your avatar - that's from Bob Thomas' book! If you haven't read it, it's great, make sure you do.

Hi everyone,

Im bumping up this post because I was wondering if anyone else out there had more information. I was offered the Bell Services Dispatch position and I am contemplating if I should accept it. Does anyone know of anyone that has done this role? Does it require a lot of heavy lifting or just a little? I am not strong lol

Thanks!!

i just got accepted for this role as well while its not my first choice i really wanted lifeguard but i guess cause im doing justfall the might not need as many... it sounds cool...im not concerned with lifting heavy things (cause im college athlete) but i just wanna know is it a fun role like attractions would be and how are the employes in this role

I think it would be pretty full of guest interaction. You probably get to have longer conversations with people than when you're just shuffling them through an attraction line. I'm a really short, little girl, and I am pretty weak when it comes to picking up heaving things so I couldn't do that part of it.

Also, I have a great story about this. When me and my mom were checking out and about to get on ME last December, we had this really great luggage guy. We wanted to tip him so badly but he was on the CP. :( So, you will have guests who love you! :)

thats an awsome story i love talking to people...so thats probably why they gave that role...im so pumped on goin in general no even more cause i love talking to random people (especially if they are happy and they are going to mostly cause they are in wdw)
