First off...please forgive my ignorance. Up till this trip we always rented a house. My only experience with hotels are the ones where you can park in front of your door, you know the ones along I-95?

So here is my question: Does everyone use this or is it more for the people who fly in? We are driving down and there are 5 of us. We will have at least 7 bags. Would we use bell services?? Or should we just drive around to where we are assigned, park and haul in our own gear? I just don't know what the "protocol" is for this. Also how much do you tip? I heard that there can be 2 different people..one who unloads your stuff and one who brings it to your room..is this correct??

Can anyone shed some light for me??? I apologize if these are stupid questions but I'm :confused3

Thanks,
Kimba

Since you're driving in -- I suggest you do what we do...

I get in line to check in while DH wanders around the outside area of resort. He usually comes back in and finds me before I get done. After all, he can't go to the room until we know where we're at. In fact, one of our preferences is to time it so that we get to our resort before lunch and before there are a lot of people checking in... we check in but don't get a room assignment right away. We have annual passes, so depending on the time of year, we either grab our books and shorts and sit by the pool for a while OR we head to a theme park.

After we get the room assignment, we drive around to the room and unload ourselves. The only times we've used bell services is if we either fly in and have a towncar service take us to our WDW resort or if we've stayed at a deluxe resort and weren't able to park near our room. At the moderates, we do it ourselves.

Actually, DH unloads the car and I unpack the bags and get us all settled in. That way, we're good to go right off the bat.

When we stayed at POR, our room was ready, so we drove to our building, parked, and took care of it ourselves. If it hadn't been ready, I would maybe have used bell services. Either way is fine.

Thanks to both of you!! I would really prefer to unload myself anyway! We won't be arriving till after 8:30pm so we'll just want to get in and crash..driving straight through from Jersey!

Thanks Again!
