We knew we could never afford a trip to Disneyworld and being big Disney fans, that is where she wished to go. And wished to go on a plane. And is now adding see Harry Potter.

She is 13. Has a Heart defect and is on the spectrum. She is emotionally, maturating wise around 10.

We have the dates.....I had to get them early because they are not paying airfare for my 20yr old daughter. They only pay for the minor children I was told, which is "kind of" a bummer as I know families where Grandma was paid for. Not to mention it is really our oldest who had her life turned upside down my "the wish" kid. The youngest came around when things were more stable. Oh well....

There are 5 of us total...me, DH, DD (20), Bekah (13) and DS(9)

We do not yet know where we are staying. Not sure at what point we learn that nor do I know if they are paying for Christines park admissions....

We live not far from Disneyland and have been a ton of times....

My current preplanning questions are

What is a not miss in the area? I hear Gatorland is up there

We technically have 7 days (april 19-25th) but we dont arrive until 6pm on the 19th and leave at noon on the 25th

Does GTKTW have internet access? Christine is finishing up her bachelors and is concerned about that.

And Gluten Free dining....Who has it? Is it easy to find?

I am sure I will have a ton more questions....no one in this house has flown in over 20yrs

So glad Bekah is getting her wish. :) Glad you found the Wish Tripper's thread - they will be able to answer most of your questions.

Here's a recent thread discussing Gluten Free at wdw http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3056895&highlight=gluten+free

As for not miss, that depends on what your family is interested in. :) I've read several trip reports where they did go to Gatorland. With the wdw, Universal, and Sea World passes, as well as activities at GKTW, you may or may not want to plan additional activities. Angel's wish was for a cruise, so I don't know all the details for GKTW, but I have read that they have passes for places like Gatorland, Legoland, Busch Gardens - you just have to request them.

I want to take a moment to give Southwest Airlines some Kudos for stepping outside their policy and giving us a refund on the difference in airfare this morning.

I received an email about "sale"" prices and checked and sure enough, the ticket I bought for the 20yr old had gone down in price. Normally, they dont do anything on the special we price, it is a risk you take but then they will offer a credit difference good for one year only.

:welcome: I am so glad your daughter is getting her wish!! My wish kid is a heart kiddo too! I've never been to Disney World so I am not much help on what not to miss :) We do not go until June on Trev's wish trip.

My Dad is going with us and he gets to stay at GKTW with us but has to pay his own air fair and park tickets.

Looking forward to hear all about your trip!

So glad that Bekah is getting her wish. I'm sorry MAW won't do for the 20 YO, but with their policy i guess, she's considered an adult an all. But you are right, i have read other stories about Grandparents being allowed. But i guess that's a case by case basis, and who knows how different chapters work.
But she will be down with you guys, she will have a blast.

I'm pretty sure GKTW has wifi. And i'm almost positive, that they make arrangements to fit almost every type of specialized diet.
