We finally got here yesterday and poor DD10 got so sick. She was feeling lousy Wed so I took her to the dr. Strep throat. She was on the antibiotics 2 and a half days and got worse, much worse. I had to take her to the Urgent care center near DTD where the poor kid had to get a shot of antibiotics in the cooley. So I'm sitting in our room with her, she's finally sleeping, while my DH took DD14 and DS to AK. I wish I was sick instead of her. Sorry for the Debbie Downer post I just know you all could understand waiting to get to Disney and being excited and all.

And FYI the dr at the urgent care center, Dr Akins, was AWESOME. What a lovely, warm person. The whole experience there was good, they were all very nice.

Awwww.. That stinks..:(

I'm going to say a quick prayer that the "bomb to the butt" will do the trick really fast!!

Hugs to your DD and you..

Hoping she feels way better shortly!! And a little room service is in order!

Poor baby! That really stinks for all of you. I hope she feels better soon. :grouphug:

Hope she's feeling better soon so you can enjoy some of your vacation! :goodvibes

When we went in June , I had a sinus infection and felt pretty cruddy. I felt much better by the second day and we still had a blast!! BTW when Dd gets the shot within 24 hrs she feels much better!!

Good luck!!

Awww your poor dd:sick: My oldest dd used to get strep constantly and had to get the dreaded butt shot a couple of times. It was horrible. I hope it does the trick and she feels better by tomorrow:wizard:

Poor thing!!

If she's up to going out tomorrow, maybe get her a stroller or a wheelchair; walking around in the heat will really sap her energy, even if she is feeling better. I hope she's able to enjoy some of the trip.

That sucks. FYI her booty is going to hurt for a month because of the shot. Hopefully she won't be as whiney as my DH is when he gets them.

Sending pixie dust and good vibes for you and DD. Hopefully she can still have a few days of Disney magic.

Hope she is feeling better soon! It definately stinks to be sick at WDW. One time I took my girls on a girls' only trip with my two DDs and we all got sick. Since I was the only adult, we couldn't split up and go our own ways. We had some down time at our resort, which was actually nice when we were feeling a little better.

Take care and find some fun regardless!

Poor baby, I know that is no fun at all. I see this is not your first trip to WDW, and I'm sure it won't be your last. Maybe there's something you can do with your dd to have her looking forward to another, better time at WDW.
:earsboy:

As someone who is always a) sick or b) traveling with someone who is sick, I understand. I'm so sorry. It really sucks.

:goodvibes for a quick recovery, or at least to feel better.

I had to chuckle a little...I thought only kids in our family had cooleys!

Sorry your child had such a hard time of it.

IMO you get two packages of free cheese to go w/ your whine -- one for your DD and one for you. I'm sure that is a huge bummer & hope she will rebound in time to salvage the rest of your vacation.

So sorry you're dealing with this. It absolutely DOES stink!! I hope she feels better soon. The shot should make for a quicker recovery - getting it into her system right away.

I had a great experience with the urgent care outside the gates as well, other than the wait but I don't remember who I saw. I even got a shuttle to and from my hotel. In hindsight I think we all had H1N1 but at the time (June 09) we just thought we had "some bug". It just didn't seem severe enough in the other three in the family to think it could be the panic inducing SWINE FLU. It was only me - the asthmatic that ended up with the full respiratory issue. Even at that, whatever antibiotic they gave me is not one that gets regularly prescribed here in Canada when I get respiratory issues following a cold - I almost always end up with bronchitis, but did it ever clear it up. 36 hours and I was good to go again.

So sorry to hear this! DS17 and myself had the stomach flu at WDW in Feb this year. The others tried to go to parks, etc. but they said it wasn't the same without us. Luckily it was the 24 hour variety but still takes 3-4 days to feel normal again. Also lucky we were in a timeshare with 2 bathrooms......

Here's hoping your DD feeld better soon and can enjoy WDW!
