Behind the Seeds tour - Advice needed

Hello all! I'm pretty new to posting but my DH and I have been reading the dis since before we booked our first trip together in early 2014. Thanks for all the great tips.

I need some advice on what I should do about an upcoming Behind the Seeds tour I have booked for myself and my DH.

Recently it was announced that Living with the Land would be closed for a short time in September and would not reopen until Friday, Sept 18. Our tour is currently booked for our first day in WDW on Thursday, Sept 17. Does anyone know how much this would affect the tour? We have not gotten any official word from Disney about cancelling it, but I would imagine the tour would be affected by the ride closing.

If it is cancelled by Disney, do you all think it's worth rescheduling one of my other days at Epcot to try to include it? I have a half day evenings planned at Epcot the following Monday and Friday, but the other half of those days we are at TL and BB and would need to leaver earlier then planned to make the last tour of the day, which I believe is 4:30pm. Worth it or not?

I'd love to hear some advice.

I guess it depends on why the ride is closed? The tour itself is in some of the same areas as the ride, but the ride not running wouldn't detract from the tour in any way. But if the ride is closed because of major upheaval or remodeling of one of the green houses, it would also negatively impact the tour.

I would call Disney and ask about the tour.

We did the tour in November and loved it. it is something we would do again on a future trip.

IMO, closure of the ride would not preclude the tour continuing, depending on why the ride was closed. e.g. if they were closing it so they could do an annual "drain and clean" or something, that would not necessarily have any impact on the tour.

since the ride will be closed for a short time I am thinking it is just for normal drain and cleaning make sure every thing is working type closer maybe up date the narration? I am hoping to do the tour in August

We did the tour a few years ago when the ride was down for rehab. You will be walking along behind what you see on the ride. So the ride really has no effect on the tour. We really enjoyed it.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I had never heard of the annual drain and clean, but that makes sense. It seems like that may be what's happening since it is a short refurb.

I think we are going to keep it the same for now, as it wasn't really fitting anywhere else and just worry about it if it should get cancelled.

I'm glad you all enjoyed the tour. I am looking forward to it more now.
